Crammed with a huge selection of the best UK and International brands, Beauty Bay is the place to be for every beauty junkie!
If you haven’t heard of Beauty Bay before then where have you been? Beauty Bay is an online store that sells all of the brands that us beauty bloggers are always dying to get our hands on. They supply beauty products from the likes of Anastasia Beverly Hills, Stila, Makeup Geek, Cover FX, Dose of Colors, Milani, Morphe, Sigma, Zoeva, Gerard Cosmetics, Kevyn Aucoin (just to name a few) and most recently added, Jeffree Star Cosmetics. Whenever I’m feeling like a makeup splurge or wanting to get my hands on some fab US beauty brands such as ABH and Morphe, I always head here. There are very few places online to get hold of most of the International brands that BB sells, so it’s fab that they’re adding more and more all of the time. They also provide free 2 day tracked delivery if you spend over £15, and lets face it, for all us beauty obsessives it’s not hard to spend a lot more than that in one online order!
So today I’m reviewing a few new goodies that I received from BB from some of the brands that they sell as well as a couple of my own purchases from their website. If I included everything I’d bought from BB we’d be here all day as I have loads, so as much as I didn’t want to, I had to narrow it down a bit!
GA-DE GD Basics Matte Eyeshadow Palette | £19.00
At first glance, this palette didn’t really appeal to me much but after a closer look and swatching of the shades, I have fallen in love. It’s an all matte eyeshadow palette which is actually the first completely matte palette that I own surprisingly! The shades are buttery soft and incredibly pigmented, one swipe and you get the intense colour shown above. I’ve actually never heard of or used this brand before but after trying out this palette I’m eager to get my hands on some other products. This is a really lovely everyday palette for something quick & simple as well as having some gorgeous matte shades in that will compliment the huge variety of shimmers I own.
Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara | £16.50
I rarely try out new brands of mascara, I usually stick to either my Benefit Roller Lash or drugstore brands such as Rimmel, so this was an intriguing one to have a go with. When I first opened the tube, I instantly thought it looked like a really good mascara brush, one that would separate the lashes and not give you clumpy ones. The brush is really flexible and it adds a lovely natural length to your lashes with no clumping as I suspected! It also holds a curl in my lashes really well which is something I struggle to find with most mascaras. Overall I’m really loving this mascara and think it will easily make it’s way into my daily makeup routine!
ARTDECO Fixing Powder | £11.75
I was so so excited to try this one, I’ve been after a loose fixing powder like this for ages. I was going to get the one from NYX but just haven’t got around to it yet so when I got this I was eager to give it a go. I suffer with an oily T-Zone so when it comes to powders, I need something that will help to control that and I found that this one does which is fab. It’s a translucent powder so it’s perfect for setting foundation & concealer with without altering the finish and colour. I’ll be continuing to use this to find out how well it holds up and if it makes my makeup last longer but so far so good.
GA-DE GD True Color Satin Lipstick | £11.00
(Swatch: Top Left) I received this lipstick in the shade ‘Plum Noir’ which is a deep purple shade that’s absolutely perfect for this time of year so I’m super happy with this! It’s a satin lipstick so it’s really moisturising and lovely to wear, however this particular shade is quite dark and would probably be better as a matte. It reminds me of a darker version of Mac Rebel actually so if you’re a fan of that, you’ll love this. I’ve actually also fallen in love with the shade ‘Bronze Star’ from looking at this product on the BB website so definitely check it out, I think I’m going to have to get my hands on it!
Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick | £10.50
(Swatch: Top Right) Gerard Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks are one of my favourite liquid lipstick formulas, they’re so so lovely to wear. They’re matte but they aren’t drying in the slightest and aren’t impossible to remove yet have really good lasting power. I’ve done a lip swatch of this shade before on my blog and it received so many compliments, it’s the shade ‘Iced Mocha’ which is another shade that’s perfect for Autumn. It’s a brown based nude with a hint of purple that’s really lovely, especially if you’re into those Kylie Jenner type nudes. I’m dying to get my hands on more shades of these and there’s plenty of choice!
LA Splash Lip Couture Waterproof Matte Liquid Lipstick | £9.95
(Swatch: Bottom Left) I am in love with this liquid lipstick packaging, I have it in the shade ‘Ghoulish’ which is a light purple toned nude. It swatches quite watery on my arm as the formula is quite runny but it’s easy to apply on the lips, although it dries very fast. If you can see from the swatch, I applied a couple of coats and it’s clearly become quite thick and drying. The staying power of this is absolutely insane and it is so hard to get off, I mean seriously, so if you like a lipstick that you don’t have to reapply then you’ll love these! I found it to be very drying though so I recommend applying some lip balm beforehand and maybe afterwards too if you use these. It’s a fab formula if you really do want something that will just not budge but your lips might pay for it afterwards if you don’t moisturise them!
Stila Stay All Day MATTE’ificent Lipstick | £15.00
(Swatch: Bottom Right) How gorgeous is the packaging of this Stila lipstick?! It’s so pretty. This is the shade ‘Ètoile’ which is quite a bright pink that I probably wouldn’t usually go for, however, I do think it’s a beautiful shade. I’m more into my nudes than bright shades like this but I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this come Spring/Summer again. Who knows, maybe I’ll even do a makeup look with it for something different to the usual. I really love the formula of this lipstick though, it’s incredibly creamy to apply yet dries down to a matte that’s really comfortable to wear. I’m quite tempted to pick up some more Autumn friendly shades just because I love the formula & packaging so much!
LA Splash Art Ki Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner | £11.25
I’m so upset that this eyeliner is out of stock on the BB website because just look at that gorgeous rose gold packaging and that black tip! It’s such a beautiful eyeliner, and the tip is absolutely fab for creating the perfect wing. I fell in love with this before I even used it and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s really pigmented too, so if it comes back in stock and you’re all about getting that sharp wing, you neeeeeed this.
Eye of Horus Liquid Define Liner | £15.00
This is another eyeliner I received that’s the same sort of style, a felt tip type liner but is a bit thicker than the LA Splash one. Depending on the look I want to go for I do mix it up with thin & thick liner so it’s actually really handy to have both of these liners as I now have one for whatever I feel like going for! This one is also really pigmented and an intense black so it’s another great buy if you like eyeliners that are felt tip like and really easy to apply.
Nailberry Nail Lacquer | £14.50
I haven’t tried any polishes from Nailberry before but I’m really impressed with them after trying them out. I have the shades ‘Simplicity’ & ‘Elegance’ which are both really pretty colours. Simplicity is described as a ‘mocha toned beige’ and I’m actually currently wearing this at the moment and love it. It’s a great shade for nude polish lovers but also the soft brown tone makes it the perfect Autumn nude. The other shade Elegance is a really pretty baby pink shade which I’d personally wear in the Spring but it’s a gorgeous girly shade if you go for those all year round!
Spectrum A01 Large Domed Powder Brush | £9.00
Admittedly, this is another bandwagon I haven’t jumped on yet. I’ve been hearing so many good things about the Spectrum brushes but this is the first I’ve tried of them. I’m actually really glad I received a powder brush over the other brushes because my powder brush is a RT one I’ve had forever and it desperately needs replacing. I’m in love with this Spectrum one, it’s so lovely and soft with no shedding, plus it’s only 9 pounds! Zoeva have some competition…
Zoeva Rose Gold Luxe Cheek Finish Brush | £15.00
I only own one Rose Gold Zoeva Brush (well I did before getting this) and I really wanted another so I ordered myself the Luxe Cheek Finish Brush as I could do with another brush to apply blusher/bronzer with. I’ve been using a RT one for ages now and it’s not really cutting it anymore and isn’t all that soft so I thought I’d grab myself a pretty new Zoeva one. I use the Rose Gold Luxe Face Paint Brush from Zoeva to contour with, so I now have the perfect duo to carve my cheekbones!
So those are just a few of the gorgeous beauty products you can pick up from BB. I really recommend having a good look on the website if you fancy treating yourself to some new beauty bits as you’ll find so many products that you’ll fall in love with. I’d just like to mention a couple of other things you can get your hands on such as the ABH Dipbrow Pomade, the Morphe 35O Palette and Makeup Geek Shadows. My Morphe 35O & Custom MUG Palette are two of my all time favourite beauty products but I didn’t include them in this post because of how much I include them in others. So make sure you check out those brands too!
