This week has been a whirlwind to say the least, here's what's been going on...
So this week has been absolutely incredible, from one magazine feature to another, I have had some pretty amazing opportunities. This little blog has gone from nothing to something and it's all thanks to you guys that read it regularly, so thank you! Here are five things that have been going on in my life...
1. Click Magazine Feature.
Click Magazine contacted me a while back asking if they could feature my blog post on How to Master Flat Lay Photography and thinking nothing of it (because I'd never heard of this magazine and didn't know it was actually a print magazine!) I said yes. Little did I know that the magazine was a fairly popular photography magazine based in the U.S. and this feature was going to be a three page spread with four of my flat lay photographs taking over the pages. They even asked me to send a high res image of myself to use with the article and there is a little bio area underneath and my blog address. When I saw it for the first time, I was literally so overwhelmed (you might have heard me screeching about it on Snapchat or Insta Stories.) I just can't believe that an actual photography magazine wanted to feature MY blog post, I'm not a professional photographer or anything?! It's crazy. Anyway I am so grateful that they did, I've already had new visitors who have found me through the magazine article, so hello if any of you are reading this 🙂
2. Blogosphere Magazine Feature.
So the gorgeous Lily over at Pint Sized Beauty was chosen to be the beauty editor of issue 12 of Blogosphere Magazine and gave them a list of her favourite beauty blogs, which kindly included my little blog. Mine happened to be one of the 5 that got selected so I've had another blog post featured in a magazine which is crazy. I've known for a while that this feature was happening, but I have never had a copy of this magazine before so again, I didn't know what to expect. I was definitely not expecting it to cover an entire page! I just think it's absolutely mental that I have had two features in a magazine, let alone in the same week?!?!
3. Starting YouTube?!
I have been wanting to start YouTube for the longest time and I'm thinking about just going for it. I have already filmed a video, it's just a case of finding the time to edit it and figure out my sort of 'editing style' for videos. I'm planning on filming another this weekend as I really want to film a video with Ru and do a 6-9 month baby wardrobe haul. I made a few Zara & Next orders and they both have the cutest clothes for baby boys so I am desperate to show you all what we bought! I also want to do a Q&A and I'm in the process of building up a list of Q's to answer. I've already been given a few, but could do with more so if you have any, please tweet them to me! @gemellisx
4. Reuben Slept Through!
My Ru bear finally slept a full 12 hours guys, it actually happened! It's only happened once, but the other nights he went about 10 hours so pretty close. He's been a bit needy the past couple of nights but he's teething and stuff so I don't expect any less, he's still been sleeping okay. Last night was about a 7 hour night which could have been worse. Before the whole routine thing he was waking up so many times during the night and we seem to have sorted that problem out so it's definitely something to celebrate!
5. Confidence.
If anyone knows me in real life, you'll know that I'm not the most confident of people, mostly down to my anxiety and things but yeah. Well anyway, lately I've just been feeling a lot more confident, I've been doing things I usually get really anxious over and it's just such a good feeling. Moving out and getting my own home has definitely given me the boost that I needed as there are so many things I just don't have a choice over anymore. This time last year, I was still getting my mum to make my doctors appointments as I have never liked being on the phone and having to ring people up over anything. These days I'm literally on the phone every single day to anyone and everyone, sorting out bills, chasing things up, making appointments. I know it seems like such a small thing but to me it's absolutely huge, especially considering I'm not on medication for my anxiety. I had to stop taking it whilst I was pregnant and I just haven't got around to going back on it, but I seem to be doing pretty okay on my own and I'm so proud of myself. This is something I never really talk about on my blog but I really wanted to mention it as it is a real achievement and I feel like I need to share more personal issues on here!
So yep, there's 5 things that I wanted to share with you all. What positive things have been going on with you lot? 🙂
