My first impressions of the new Rimmel Insta Collection... *spoiler alert* it's fab!
I already knew I was on Rimmel's PR list and receive things from them unexpectedly, but when I got this lot through the post I was so so excited! I'm on a complete spending ban at the moment so to receive new makeup makes me a very happy gal. I've not been wearing makeup that much lately, and when I have, I've been reaching for my go-to products to do it as quickly as possible so I haven't really had the chance to try out anything new until yesterday. This isn't really going to be a full in-depth review but I will be giving my first impressions of the product and reviewing how they lasted on me throughout the day. So to find out about these new goodies, keep reading!
Rimmel Insta Conceal & Correct Palette // £6.50
I'm totally new to colour correctors (I know, totally late to the game) but I recently used a green one from L.A. Girl and I absolutely hated it, my face looked pale green, like a bloody zombie. Even after concealer I still didn't look right, so it's safe to say I completely avoided the green shade in this palette. I have used the orange shade which is for dark circles and it worked wonderfully on mine. I also used a bit of the purple shade on my dark under eye circles and found that helped even more, so the two work perfectly together. I applied the concealer from the conceal & contour palette on top and my dark under eye circles were completely covered, it was great! Again, these shades are super creamy and blend like a dream, these palettes are just fab.
Rimmel Insta Duo Contour Stick // £6.99
I think these have got to be the star of the show, I've heard loads of people already saying how much they love them and I can totally see why now! I used the one in light and the contour shade is just gorgeous. It didn't sculpt my cheekbones as much as make me look so naturally bronzed, but then this is the first time I've properly used a cream product so I need to get the hang of blending a bit more. I just applied it to my cheekbones and then used my beauty blender to blend it all out and it just gave me the most natural bronzed glow, I was in love. The highlight is super gorgeous too, it's not overpowering but when the light shined on my face, I looked SO glowy, but a lovely natural glow. I think cream contour products need to make their way into my everyday routine as they are just so beautiful, I've been missing out! I usually don't work with cream products and they make my foundation go cakey but these didn't whatsoever so I am so so happy with the results. They blend like an absolute dream too, and don't dry down too fast that you can't apply it all over your face before blending. If you get one thing from this range, make it the duo contour stick!
Rimmel Insta Fix & Matte Powder // £4.99
So if you read my blog, watch my YouTube and just watch my makeup tutorials in general, then you will know that I swear by the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. It's ALL I use. So of course when I saw this I was super intrigued by it and excited to see if it would live up to the stay matte powder. I don't know if it's the same or a similar type of formula but it's fantastic. I haven't got oily at all after using this, and I'm talking through a nap and the lot. I did use the setting spray as well so that might have played a part but I'm definitely loving this powder and I will probably use this in rotation with my Rimmel Stay Matte from now on! Love that it's still really cheap too, I think it's only a pound more, and the packaging is actually a lot prettier so maybe I'll just start getting this...
Rimmel Insta Fix & Go Setting Spray // £6.99
I think the setting spray has to be another star of the show. Admittedly, I'm not huge on setting sprays like most beauty bloggers, and this is just because I don't really wear my makeup for a very long time and feel the need to use one. However, I've been testing this one out anyway and I am definitely impressed so far. It smells amazing, makes my skin look and feel so dewy and fresh, and it's especially so lovely to apply on a hot day like yesterday! It was SO humid so this setting spray was a must. I think I'll be reaching for this all the time during the summer just to help stop my makeup melting. I've heard other bloggers saying it's one of the best drugstore setting sprays out there already so definitely get your hands on this bad boy - and for such a good price too!
