When the seasons change, I like to update my home to go with it and these are the little details I’ve been adding in since Autumn arrived…
Homeware is one of my favourite things to invest in and I love adding little details to my house as the seasons change. I’ve only lived here since February so this is my first Autumn in my own house and I’ve loved decorating it with pumpkins, scented candles and all the rest! It’s nearly November now so of course Christmas is creeping upon us too which means I also get to go out and buy all the festive decor this year which I’m so excited about. I have been adding little autumnal and wintery bits to my house lately so I thought that I would share some of the pretty things that i’ve been decorating with!
Pumpkins. Nearer to the start of Autumn, I started a pumpkin collection (not on purpose) that just seemed to keep growing & growing and I decided to pile them all up on my kitchen table and I just love how it looks. They’re getting past it now that it’s almost the end of the month and probably need binning/cooking which makes me sad but I’ve loved them whilst they’ve lasted. I also got a letter board just before Reuben’s birthday so I’ve been putting that to use too in my little setup. I usually buy some fresh blooms every week and these pretty ones were actually bought for Ru’s birthday but they are still going strong now, they’ve lasted weeks! I love that they add a bit of colour to the place amongst all the orange. Also the Halloween candle from home bargains is another one of my obsessions, £2.99 and smells incredible just like the gingerbread one so I definitely recommend picking one up before they stop selling them!
Scented Candles. I’ve got plenty of gingerbread candles to hand since I stocked up on them so you can always count on one being lit in my house… it makes the place smell amazing! I’ve also been loving this pumpkin spice candle from B&M which I really recommend if you love strong, sweet scented candles – heaven. I also picked up a little set of three mini candles from B&M all with the scent ‘spiced berries’ and you seriously need these in your life if you love sweet, wintery scents. They are my new faves. I’ve also been decorating my coffee table with mini pumpkins as you can see!
Winter Bits. One of my new favourite homeware pieces is this beautiful wicker basket that I found in homesense. It was so affordable at around £12 I believe and I am absolutely in love with it. I feel like it’s such a nice addition to my living room and it looks so cute and wintery with this gorge throw from Matalan draped over! I also couldn’t resist adding something Christmassy to my living area so I picked up this pretty glittery star from B&M for around £4. The lady at the till advised me to coat it with hairspray to stop the glitter from getting everywhere and it has worked a treat – brilliant!
Fresh Flowers. One of my favourite things to add colour is fresh flowers, you just can’t beat them. They brighten up the place, they smell beautiful and it sounds sad but they just really make me feel happy. I usually pick up roses for £2 in Lidl and they last aaaaages, you can’t go wrong. I recently picked up the most Autumnal bouquet ever in Morrisons that was reduced from £12 to £6 and I just absolutely love it. The deep red roses combined with the yellow just looks so gorgeous and they have been making for some gorgeous flat lays!
What Autumnal bits have you been adding to your home?
