Now that the weather is colder, there’s nothing I love more than cosying up on the sofa with some of my favourite things…
Even though I’m not a huge fan of the cold, I love getting all cosy under a blanket with a hot drink at this time of year. It’s so nice to get all cuddled up on the sofa with a good film and a face mask, accompanied by a big cup of hot chocolate. Today I’m going to share a few of the things that I’m loving this Autumn and I can’t be without.
Skincare Saviours
I’ve been breaking out loads lately, which I think is down to the change in the weather, but I’ve had some pretty nasty breakouts that have been hard to shift. I started using some new skincare products that were complete game changers and cleared my spots up within a couple of days and I’ve not put them down since. The first one is the iS Clinical Active Serum which I was a bit sceptical about but oh my god, it works wonders! It’s incredibly expensive when you only get a small bottle but I can honestly tell you that it truly works miracles. I have been using it once a day on an evening and it stings a little, especially if your skin is quite dry like mine, but it’s so worth it. I feel like the stinging sensation just tells me that it’s actually doing something which I like. I use this quite sparingly and I’m going to save it for when I have really bad breakouts so it lasts me longer! Another skincare saviour I’ve been using combined with it is the Glossier Super Pure which is perfect for stressed skin. I feel like the two paired together have just worked amazingly to help clear up my breakouts so fast, the super pure calms my skin down a bit after I’ve applied the active serum and really soothes my face. I’ve also been using the Glossier Mega Greens Galaxy Pack which I only use once or twice a week but I feel like it’s made such a difference in my skin in such a short space of time. Together, these three gems have really been saving my skin!
Hot Treats
I’ve been absolutely obsessed with hot chocolates lately. I never used to be overly fussed about them but for the past couple of weeks I’ve lost count of how many I’ve been drinking! It’s probably not the best thing to be obsessed with, all that chocolate, milk and countless marshmallows… but I can’t get enough. I highly recommend the galaxy hot chocolate as it’s bloody delicious. I also recommend this mug from H&M as it’s beautiful and so instagrammable, but also holds in a large amount of drink!
Films
There’s nothing better than snuggling up on the sofa with a really good film, and lately I’ve been watching a fair few. I’ve been watching a mix of rom coms and family films for something more Reuben-friendly, he watched shrek for the first time the other day and loved it! If you’re like me and don’t have sky or Netflix, then Cinema Paradiso offers a service where you can choose from a massive variety of films with free delivery and returns. You also get to keep them for as long as you like! Sometimes it’s quite nice to dig out a DVD like the old days and with them, it’s so easy to do. My favourite picks would have to be Bridget Jones’s Baby, Finding Dory, Up, About Time & The Intern!
Cosy Knits
One of my favourite things about the colder months has to be cosy blankets, and two of my recent purchases have been from Matalan. I’ve picked Reuben up a couple of throws from there now, and they are so so soft and stay that way even after multiple washes, and the best part is that they’re only £5 each! I’m so tempted to pick up a few more because they are honestly so comfy and I mean for that price – how can you not? Another favourite cosy knit of mine is my blanket scarf that I picked up from Asos last year, It’s a camel colour and it’s absolutely huge but it keeps me so warm when I go outside. I don’t think they sell that one anymore but they do have some other cosy looking picks.
What are your favourite things at this time of year?
