Three palettes that I’m finding myself reaching for the most this Autumn…
If you read my blog often then you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of eyeshadow and Autumn is the perfect time to dig out all of my warm hues. I tend to opt for palettes over singles most of the time, just because I generally like to use a crease shade, lid shade & an inner corner highlight and it’s easier when they’re all together. Warm tones are my preferred choice when it comes to eyeshadow anyway as I don’t think cool tones suit my eyes or skin tone, but I feel like this is the time of year when I can really show them off.
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette // £39.00
The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette has been a firm favourite of mine for a while now. The shades in it are just so wearable, easy to throw on for a day to day look yet are still very versatile. I love that it has a mix of mattes & shimmers and darks & lights, you literally just get everything you could possibly need. Not only that but the packaging is just super duper gorgeous and I always love digging it out my drawer. If you want to see some swatches of this babe, you can see some here.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette // £43.00
My most recent favourite palette is the ABH Modern Renaissance, and isn’t it just such an autumnal palette too? Those red toned shades are perfect for this time of year! This palette has been a fave of mine for a while now and I don’t see that changing any time soon, I just loooove it. Again, I love that there is a mix of shimmers and mattes in this one, however I don’t feel that the shimmers are as versatile as the chocolate bar palette because there aren’t as many. I still find it easy to create so many different looks with this palette though just because there are so many different matte shades in it, so if you love a palette with plenty of mattes then you’ll love this one. You can see some swatches here.
Custom 15 Pan Palette
This one is harder to review because I can’t price it for you and it’s something that I built over time, however it had to make the cut because I’ve been picking it up so much lately! I finished this palette over a year ago now and it’s made up of MAC & Makeup Geek single shadows, and I’m just obsessed with it. It’s full of warm tones and has all the perfect matte shades for the crease and to create a smokey eye with. It also has the perfect brow bone highlight, inner corner highlight and then so many different lid shades. Making your own eyeshadow palette is such a good idea because you can choose all of the perfect shades to suit your taste and skin tone. If you want to see what shades are in mine and swatches of them, you can view the post I put up last year here.
