It’s time to dig out the festive lips & sparkly picks…
I absolutely love Christmas, not just for family time, gifts, trees, decor, food… but for makeup too! Is there anything better than having the perfect excuse to wear a bold red lip all month?! I also love how it’s acceptable to wear lots and lots of glitter and sparkly shadows. I like to think there’s no limits on when you can wear any sort of makeup, but it’s definitely most fitting to wear this kind of look at Christmas time. Today I’m going to share the products I used to create this glowy look!
Base
Firstly I applied Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow to smooth my skin and blur any imperfections – it genuinely makes my skin look blurred, I’m so obsessed! I then went in with the Milani 2 in 1 Conceal & Perfect Foundation which is one of my current faves, it has such good coverage and makes my skin look flawless. It’s £13 and I highly, highly recommend. It feels like such a high end foundation and it’s in the same price range as drugstore ones! For concealer, I used the Collection Concealer in Fair to brighten up my undereye area and cover dark circles. I then used the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer for some extra coverage over the breakouts I’ve had recently. I set my base with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.
Definition
To sculpt my face, I used the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Light. This is my absolute holy grail contour powder, however I do think now that I wear fake tan 100% of the time, I should invest in the medium shade as I tend to pack quite a lot on to make my cheekbones look well sculpted! I then bronzed my face with the NARS Contour Duo in Paloma, this is such a pigmented bronzer and a beaut colour – highly recommend. For a bit of colour I opted for my NYX Ombre Blush in Mauve Me, one of my A/W faves. For a glow, I used my new baby, the NARS Man Ray Overexposed Highlight in Double Take.
Eyes
I used the BrowGal Brow Gel to set my eyebrow hairs in place, this brow gel is amazing at keeping them firmly stuck without making them feel like they’ve been hair sprayed – it’s so good! I then defined & filled them in using the Freedom Brow Pomade in Auburn. I primed my eyes with the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base and went in with the NARS Man Ray Highlight again to highlight my brow bone. For my eyeshadow, I used my Anastasia Beverly Hills single shadows Birkin & Fudge in the crease and outer corner, as well as under my lower lash line. On my lid, I went in with Angel Fire from the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Palette. I then finished it off with some GlitterEyes glitter in the inner corner, using the NYX Glitter Primer to apply it with. I added a thin wing along my lash line with the Kat Von D Liquid Liner and applied the Charlotte Tilbs Full Fat Lashes Mascara. To finish off my eyes, I then added some Esqido Lashes in Desire with the Esqido Lash Glue.
Lips
On my lips, I used the lipstick that I recently did a review on – and that’s the NARS Audacious Lipstick in the shade Charlotte. I am absolutely obsessed, the formula is so beautifully creamy & pigmented. Without a doubt, my new festive fave!
Let me know if you liked this look & would like to see more festive looks over the next couple of weeks! 🙂
