New year… new makeup!
January is the perfect time to try out new products and give your everyday makeup and skincare stash a huge refresh. I’ve hooked up with one of my favourite retailers, Fragrance Direct to add a few new beauty bits to my collection, and I’m going to be trying them all out over the upcoming weeks. I am long overdue some new skincare goodies particularly so I’m super duper excited to finally have a few bits and bobs that I’ve lusted after for a while. I’ve also got a couple of new makeup goodies that will be going on trial and I can’t wait to share my thoughts on those too! So without further ado, here’s what I picked…
Skincare.
Antipodes Manuka Honey Light Day Cream // If you read my blog often, then you know I’m a huge Antipodes fan. I jumped at the chance to pick up a couple more products from their skincare range and the manuka honey light day cream was first on my list. I have quite a few moisturisers but they are all running quite low as it’s an essential in winter with how dry my skin has been lately, so I was after a new one and this ticked all the boxes. I can’t wait to try this!
Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream // Another goodie I thought I’d grab was the kiwi seed oil eye cream. I haven’t actually heard anything about this around the blogosphere, but I know that I love Antipodes products so I thought it was worth a try! I have a couple of eye creams on rotation but they are something I’ve begun to use every single day and I only have two so I could definitely do with more in my collection. I’ve used this already and had great results, so I can’t wait to carry on using it.
Trilogy Rose Hip Oil // This stuff smells so good, I love absolutely everything rose scented or based. I have been desperate to get my mitts on this oil for a while now and with my skin being so dehydrated lately, this is welcomed into my stash with open arms. I have heard such good things about this one so I have big expectations!
Cougar Caffeine Enriched Hyaluronic Acid Facial Oil Set // Some more skincare gems I got for adding a bit of hydration to my skin are these Cougar goodies. This is a set of three products, and in it you get a day & night cream, facial oil and an eye serum. It’s such an affordable gift set for what you get in it and I’m desperately hoping these make a huge impact on my skin over the next few weeks.
DR Paw Paw Peach Pink Lip Balm // I’ve read things about the Dr Paw Paw lip balms for so so long but never actually tried one myself. When I saw that Fragrance Direct stocked the brand, I jumped at the chance to finally give one a go and I’m very excited to try it out. It’s such a huge tube of lip balm, I was shocked at the size – you can see how big it is in the main photo next to the foundation! It also says you can use it on your cheeks for a rosy bit of colour which is quite handy too, it sounds like a great handbag staple!
Makeup.
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Natural Beige // I’ve been meaning to pick up this foundation for ages after hearing really good things about it on other blogs but just never got around to it. I thought I may as well finally try it out since I’ve been looking for a new foundation and I like drugstore ones for everyday wear. I can’t say I’ve tried it yet so I don’t have much to say but keep a look out on my insta stories as I will probably do a first impressions on there. It’s half price on FD too so definitely worth picking up!
NARS Audacious Lipstick in Brigitte // After buying a lipstick from this NARS range last month in the shade Charlotte, I was desperate to add another to my collection. I absolutely love the creamy formula and the packaging is to die for. This is a gorgeous pink lipstick and I can see it being a firm favourite during Spring. I quite like pink tones as my everyday shades so it may even become my next go-to on a daily basis!
NARS All Day Luminous Powder Foundation in Fiji // I’ve always been really tempted by a powder foundation, even though I have quite dry skin I still get fairly oily and I’ve always wondered if this type of foundation would have more oil control. I figured that even if this doesn’t work for me, it could work really well as a setting powder and give me some extra coverage as I am all about full coverage foundations anyway. I am in love with the packaging of this (as always with NARS) so I’m super excited to try it out – watch this space!
So that’s everything that I picked from Fragrance Direct, I’ve already mixed up my daily routine to incorporate everything so I will definitely give more in-depth reviews in a few weeks time. I love FD for their unbeatable prices, not only do they sell some of my favourite high end brands but their prices are so much lower than other retailers! I highly recommend having a browse if you’re after some new products, or even if you need to make a repurchase to save yourself some pennies.
