A post dedicated to my favourite too faced products…
Too Faced is one of my all time favourite beauty brands, there’s rarely a product I’ll come across that I don’t like. And I mean can we just talk about their branding? All of their packaging is GOALS. Admittedly, I only have one of the chocolate bar palettes, but I’m secretly lusting after the whole collection. Cult Beauty have also just started stocking Too Faced, they are one of my go-to beauty sites when I want to treat myself to some new makeup so now that they sell another one of my fave brands it’s fab! Anyway, if you’re interested in what’s in store – I’m going to crack on with this little round up…
Primed & Poreless Pressed Powder // I’m not going to lie… when I first laid my eyes on this, I was drawn to the beautiful pink, instagrammable packaging. It’s the main reason I wanted it. However,Β I don’t have many setting powders in my collection because I always just reach for my trusty rimmel stay matte, so having a new one to try out was very welcomed. I’ve been using this for the past week or so and I’m loving it so far. It’s finely milled, sets my foundation really well and keeps my oiliness away for a good few hours. I wouldn’t say there’s anything particularly special about it but it does the job well. If you’re after a new setting powder and want one with beautiful packaging then this one is your guy! (And I mean seriously, it’s got theeeee prettiest packaging ever).
Candlelight Glow in Warm Glow // The candlelight glow is a product I’ve had my eye on for a few months now. I always love too faced shadows and how pigmented they are, so I was quite eager to see what the highlights were like. I can honestly say, this has not disappointed. Again, I’m in love with the beautiful packaging and the embossed design, and I really like that you get two shades in one. I’ve been applying both on my cheek bones and they look beautiful together, you can apply them quite lightly for everyday wear or build them up for more glow. Even though the swatches don’t show it very well, they are pretty darn pigmented! I’m using this every single day at the moment and I’m so obsessed. They also have a lighter/more cool toned version for paler skin tones with pink undertones. I opted for the warm version as I have yellow undertones and it compliments my skin tone perfectly!
Chocolate Soleil Bronzer // I’ve had the chocolate soleil bronzer in my makeup collection now for a prettyyyyy long time. I bought it absolutely ages ago and used it as a contour for so long. I actually don’t like this as a contour anymore and not too sure why I thought it worked as it’s so warm but it obviously looked okay at the time! I think this is one of my favourite bronzers to use ~not just because it smells like chocolate~ but because it’s the perfect shade to add warmth to my face without being too much! I never used to be massively into bronzers but I think they add so much definition so I can’t be without it now and this is definitely in my top 3 picks. They also have two other shades, one for pale skin & one for darker skin tones so it’s definitely worth looking into if you’re hunting out a new one – plus it smells heavenly!!
Hangover Primer // I purchased the hangover primer when it was going around the blogosphere like crazy. I have really dry skin (even though it’s oily in the t-zone) and generally need a really good primer to hydrate it before putting on my makeup, or it just applies so patchy. I think this is the best primer in my collection for hydrating my face, it leaves my skin feeling so soft afterwards. I love the packaging too, it looks like it’s a squeezy tube but it actually has a pump which makes it so easy to apply! Sometimes I actually even use this when I’m not wearing any makeup just because I love how it makes my skin feel.
Shadow Insurance // I purchased the shadow insurance on a whim on boxing day last year. I’ve had my eye on it for about two years and just never picked it up as I’ve always swore by the UD primer potion. Since it changed formula, the last one I had didn’t work for me anymore so I’ve been trying to hunt out a better one. I tried the NARS one but it was so-so, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, so I finally picked up the Too Faced one. I’ve been using it ever since. I have not had a single crease issue yet and it’s been two months! I can 100% vouch for this if you have super oily lids like me because it is fab.Β
Born This Way Foundation // If you’ve read my blog for a while then you’ll know that I picked this up in Paris a couple of years ago now. I’ve mentioned this loads, but basically I got it in the shade ‘porcelain’ which looked fine swatched in store but when I got back to our hotel, it made me look tanned which isn’t a good look when you’re naturally pale as a ghost. So Too Faced, if you read this, up your game with the names of your foundation shades. Anyway, now that I basically wear tan 24/7, it works perfectly for me so I wear it a fair bit. I love how much coverage it has, it’s quite similar to the EL DW in the sense of coverage, it literally covers everything with no need for concealer. It’s not the best foundation in terms of controlling my oil, but the lasting power and coverage makes me reach for it so much. It also doesn’t cling to my dryness so it’s quite hydrating too. I just have to top up with powder when I’m out and about wearing this – but I can live with that!
Natural Eyes Palette // The natural eyes palette is another product that I’ve lusted after for ages now. When Cult Beauty started selling the brand, I was desperate to finally get my hands on it! It hasn’t disappointed at all, the shades are so stunning. It’s got a mix of warm and cool tones in there which is quite unusual for a palette, but it’s perfect for day to day looks and has everything you need. I’ve been wearing silk teddy on my lid with sexpresso in the outer corner and it’s such a simple but classy look – I love it! Honey pot is also a beautiful shade worn all over the lid, the shades are so pigmented too. Definitely a must have if you love wearable, everyday palettes.
Chocolate Bar Palette // My chocolate bar palette was the first too faced purchase I made, and it’s still going strong. I don’t know how I haven’t hit pan on marzipan yet as it’s the most pigmented, beautiful shade ever.Β The whole palette is warm in tone which is perfect for me, I don’t really suit many cool toned shadows so I always opt for warm ones. I love the variety you get and how you can create so many different looks. Not to mention that as soon as you open the lid, all you can smell is chocolate… so it’s basically an essential just for that reason π
