Struggle with acne or breakouts? Here’s two products that may just save the day…
Over the last couple of months, I’ve suffered with one of the worst breakouts I’ve had in years. I barely got any spots for about a year and a half and then at the beginning of this year, they started and just wouldn’t stop. No products were helping and they just seemed to keep on spreading around my face no matter what I tried. I was basically on the look out after that for any recommendations that helped spots and acne and today I’m going to share the two that worked for me and finally cleared it up.
The first product that I started using was the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, I had this on my wish list forΒ such a long time but it was one of those products that I was quite sceptical about. It really isn’t expensive at all so I’m hitting myself for not just purchasing it sooner, but at least I did in the end! It was actually Jodie who spurred me on to finally hit the purchase button as she’d had the same issues with breakouts that I was having and this was one of the products that she recommended and sold me on. For Β£16, this is a product that you will honestly never regret spending your money on, well I haven’t anyway. I don’t think I can actually ever be without this now. The drying lotion is a spot treatment made up of a blend of calamine and salicylic acid which provides instant relief from breakouts. I honestly couldn’t believe how well it worked within just one night, it’s like a bottle of magic. You basically wait for the treatment to settle in the bottle so that all of the pink solution has settled at the bottom of the glass bottle and you then dip a cotton bud into the pink liquid and dab it on each blemish. Me and my sister both had quite bad spots so we both applied it the first evening after it arrived and the pair of us woke up amazed at how much our spots had reduced. I wanted her to use it as well so that I had a second opinion on the effect of it and the results were just insane. I actually took before and afters just so I could show the results and the difference within just a few days was nothing other than a miracle. I sound so enthusiastic about the product but I’ve never in my life owned a spot treatment that has worked as well as this has! It almost erases spots overnight and the reduction I have from my redness is like magic. I think one of the worst things about having a bad breakout is that my face just gets so red which makes it look so much worse than it actually is, so the fact that I’ve discovered a product that helps with that is the best thing ever. I should also add that one dip of a cotton bud goes a long way and you really don’t need to use much product at all to see results which makes the price tag even better as it may be a small bottle, but it will last such a long time. If you’re on the fence about getting this product like I was, I highly recommend just picking it up as it’s so inexpensive for how much product you get and for the results that it gives. I’ve attached some photos below of the results after day one and after day three of using it. The difference is amazing!
The second product that I started using was the Alpha H Liquid Gold. I swapped out my Pixi Glow Tonic for this product because I’d heard such good things about it so I really wanted to see the benefits of it. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I have noticed such a massive difference in my skin. I don’t use the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion on an everyday basis, I did at first whilst my breakouts were extremely bad but now that they’ve calmed down I don’t have the need to anymore. So every evening before I do my skincare routine, I soak a cotton pad in the liquid gold solution and apply it to my face. It contains glycolic acid which is another acid that helps clear up blemishes and it helps to cleanse the bacteria that breakouts form from as well as reduce the visibility of acne scars and minimise redness. I didn’t see results with this immediately, but it does say to use it everyday for a good 2 weeks before you notice the results. I am definitely noticing them now I’ve been using it a while, my skin looks nowhere near as red or blotchy as it did a few weeks ago and all the acne scars from my breakout have faded so much. If you’re really suffering with spots then this is another product that is 100% worth getting to help get your skin back to normal. As someone who has a bad habit of squeezing big ugly blemishes, this has helped fade all the scars and redness from them and has made my skin look so much more youthful again!
