A beautiful gift idea for Mother's Day...
Mother's Day is one of those times of the year where you have no idea what to buy for your mum. Do you just go for a bouquet of flowers? Some chocs? A spa day? Well I have a gift idea for you that's a bit more special and has a bit more meaning. Whether you want to gift one to your mum, your grandma, a sister, a friend - or yourself, the Papier photo books are the most gorgeous and sentimental gifts. I couldn't be more in love with the one I've created, if you fancy finding out a bit more about it, keep scrolling!

The design process
Designing your photo book on the Papier website couldn't be easier, not only do they have so many different designs to choose from, but the process itself is so straightforward. Before creating mine, I made a folder on my desktop and put in it all of the photos that I wanted to feature in the book - this organises the design process better for you and you can just upload all of the photos straight from the folder to the Papier website! You can create any type of photo book that you want, but I personally opted for a baby book as I wanted to create a book full of my favourite pictures of Reuben from birth up until he turned two. So once I selected the baby book section, there was even more options to choose from including whether I wanted the book to be portrait or square, as well as different designs and patterns for the front cover. I went for the 'ribbons' design which I think is just gorgeous, it also comes in red as well as blue. You can then choose what text you'd like on the front, you can put absolutely anything you like but I followed the 'standard' design and went with Ru's name and then his date he was born with the time.
Once you've selected the design of the book itself, you upload your photos and start designing the pages. With most other online photo books, there is always a standard sort of design, but with Papier you can choose the layout of each and every page inside the book, as well as adding extra pages for a small fee. I loved that I could design every page as I have a lot of photos that were taken on the same day or in the same shoot and it was lovely to be able to put them all together - not to mention that I'm a full on perfectionist anyway so I need control over these kinds of things! Once you've designed the pages of your book, you are done and it's as simple as having a quick check to make sure everything is how you want it and then hitting the check out button. Considering I was going to create a scrapbook of all these photos - this has saved me a lotttttt of time and is just as special. It's such a quick process and Papier have made it so easy to do, there's no tricky bits to figure out.
The printed product
I honestly couldn't have been more in love when my photo book arrived in the post. Not only was it packaged up absolutely beautifully, but there was even a little card included with a really lovely quote on. Papier really pay attention to every little detail. The photo book itself is absolutely incredible and it's amazing quality. It looks like it would cost far more than they charge. Most of my photos had been saved for web size as I don't tend to keep the original files as they take up so much space and every single one has printed out so well that you can't even tell. You can literally save photos from Facebook and they print out so crisp as some of mine were saved from it!
Overall I couldn't recommend the Papier photo books more, not only as a gift idea but for yourselves. I did Reuben's from newborn to his second birthday. He doesn't have any keepsakes like this and so it makes it that extra bit special, plus I am able to get it out and have a look through it with him whenever I like, which is a much sweeter experience than flicking through your phone isn't it?! I will 100% be creating another in a couple of years to document the next two years of his life as I can't express enough how easy it was to create and the quality of these books is just insane.
This was actually my first ever Papier order and I also got a couple of personalised notebooks including a little sketchbook for Reuben to scribble in that I plan on putting in his keepsake box along with the photo book. Just another idea for a gift along with the photo book if you want something to go with it! Papier have currently got 40% off their photo books so now is the perfect time to get one ordered in time for Mother's Day. You can browse the Mother's Day range here.
