When you’re a blogger, it’s normal for you to work at home. At first, it can be really fun to work on the sofa or dining table or even in bed. You’re essentially freelance and now running your own business, so of course you’re free to work as and when you please. But after a few weeks of doing this, you may realize that you’re not all that motivated to work. First of all, you’re still on your home turf, so it can be hard for you to stay focused. But not only that, you may then also find you don’t really feel as if you’re working as much as you’d like to. This is where a home office comes in. Let’s take a look at how you can design yours on a budget!
Choose The Right Space
First of all, you’re going to want to make sure that you’ve chosen the best possible place for your office. Think about where you will feel most comfortable and productive. Will it be a spare room or maybe a room downstairs? Or do you even want to turn your garage into the perfect office?
Look For Inspiration
When you know where you’re going to be building this, the next thing for you to do here is to think about the kind of design that you want. Here, you don’t necessarily have to have a colour in mind and then that’s all. Instead, you might want to take a look at some home office designs to see what kind of things you like. Then, you can start to decorate.
Find The Right Furniture
The next step here, is for you to think about the kind of furniture that you want to bring in. For most people, this is going to mean a desk and chair, but that’s unlikely to be all that you need. Instead, you’re going to want to think about the storage may want. This could be shelving or even IKEA wardrobes if you have fashion or beauty samples to store. You may even want to keep your wardrobe or dressing table here and have it as a dual-use room.
Get Organized
Now, you need to make sure that you can get all of your work in and set up. Yes, this may just be a laptop. But maybe you need to organize your photography equipment, store your paperwork, or even other bits and pieces that go with being a blogger, so now you can put it all in place.
Adjust As You Go
But then, you’ve also got to make sure that you’re comfortable in the space, and you actually like being there too. And this can be pretty new for you. You’re not used to working in an office, so it may feel a little alien. So this is why you need to adjust as you go along. Don’t like the décor? Change it up. Not feeling all that motivated, open a window or play some music or even hang wall art. It may not be perfect right away, but it will get there.
