Do you ever struggle with gift buying? Because I know I do. Why is it so hard to pick out gifts for people, whether they be family, friends, or even school teachers, I really struggle. When it comes to Christmas or a family members birthday, I always seem to pick out the same old gifts too – and I just think, they must get so bored of receiving the same thing constantly. I wanted to start thinking outside the box, so recently that’s exactly what I’ve been doing and I’m so pleased with my fresh ideas. A lot of them suit all occasions too, so here’s a few of them if you also struggle with gift buying!
Hampers
Hampers are one of my favourite things to put together, the best thing about them is the fact that – we all eat. I’ve made all kinds of different hampers for peoples’ birthdays as well as for a Christmas gift. You can go to fancy supermarkets such as M&S, or something a bit more indie like a cute farm shop in the middle of nowhere, or you can simply go to your nearest ASDA or Morrisons. You can pick up so many bits and curate it to fit the personality/tastes of whoever the gift is for. The last one I did, I just picked out their favourite foods in the supermarket with their favourite drink and put it all together in a woven basket. In the past, I’ve tried to pick things they might not have tried or ever bought for themselves, but it has to be someone who likes trying new foods for that kind of thing I feel. Either way, they’re pretty easy to throw together and using a pretty basket makes them look super cute and put together.
Afternoon Tea
I often think a good birthday gift is taking someone out for lunch, because who doesn’t love eating out?! Something a bit different (as going out for lunch is very common isn’t it!) is taking someone out for afternoon tea instead. I recently bought someone a gift voucher for afternoon tea, you can get them all over the place for different types of afternoon tea. They do children’s ones and even ones where you have it on a boat trip which is pretty cool. An example of a cute gift idea would be to have traditional afternoon tea in Cheshire at Mottram Hall. If you live in the North West of England, it’s a gorgeous location and it’s super luxe!
A Weekend Away
If you never know what to get your other half, a weekend away is always a fab idea. You can find some really cheap weekend deals for trips abroad, or even just book a bed & breakfast for a couple of nights. Somewhere like the Lake District would be lovely where it has gorgeous views and countryside walks. You don’t even have to get something like this for your other half, it would make a fab gift for anyone if they’re in need of a relaxing weekend away, without the kids maybe?! Most people love to get away for a night or two so you definitely can’t go wrong with this one.
A Subscription Service
There’re so many different subscription services available now that these make for fab gifts. From bouquets to your doorstep, to beauty boxes, to food hampers – there’s so many options on the market. Online shopping is so huge now and delivery services can offer same-day delivery, it’s a changed world. I would love it if someone got me a 6-month subscription for a floral delivery service and I got a fresh bouquet every month, how dreamy!
So those are just a few ideas for a gift that’s something a little bit different, if you’re currently gift searching for that someone special then I hope they help you out! 🙂
