Whilst it’s only July, Christmas events are already starting to happen. It’s 5 months away which in reality, isn’t that far away! I know myself from how fast time goes since having a child, these things just come around so quickly. This post is going to give you a few tips on how you can save yourself from stressing about preparing for those big Christmas parties and events, because who likes last minute panic right?!
Figure Out Your Budget
The place to start is to definitely decide on what budget you want to have. This can save a lot of stress over things costing more than you thought, figure out an overall budget and then separate it into different parts for each bit of the party planning. You can have a section for the venue, the entertainment, the invites, the decor, etc! It will make your life a whole lot easier, you can even get yourself a little notebook to store all the details in so it doesn’t get too overwhelming.
Book The Venue
Planning early is everything when it comes to big events like Christmas! It’s basically the biggest event of the entire year and it’s better to be prepared. If you’re looking to book a venue for your own event, or maybe for a work party then Square Meal is fab for finding the perfect venue for Christmas parties, and can save so much time. Get the venue out the way, and then you can focus on sorting out all of the smaller details!
Think Of A Theme
What sort of theme do you want to go for? What kind of colour palette? I think if you decide on this before you sort the decorations out, it will be a whole lot less stressful. Christmas decorations can definitely become too much, have you seen how many they bring out and how many different colour varieties there are of each one?! The shops go wild, I tell you. If you know exactly what you’re looking for and what colour before you head into them then you won’t come out five hours later.
Remember The Food
I mean, probably one of the most important parts of Christmas in general – never mind just for a party, is the food. Every caterer will get absolutely chocka at Christmas time so get in there early and get it booked before it’s too late. This is particularly important if you already have someone/somewhere in mind as you don’t want to end up being too late and disappointed. It can be a key part of the theme you choose to so it’s another reason to figure out your theme like I mentioned above, and then get the food sorted out straight afterwards.
The Dress
If you’re planning a party, don’t forget to dress yourself. It will be the first thing your guests think about, so make sure it isn’t your last! If you want to choose something that’s a bit more unique and definitely won’t be similar to what your work colleague wears, you can always find a prom dress to suit you. Most prom dresses are gorgeous occasion dresses that can be worn for all kinds of different events and I bet nobody else thinks to look for one for the Christmas party – you’ll really stand out!
Now it’s time to get Christmas party planning, have fun!
