Dressing children is a task in itself, let alone when you’re on holiday. As a mother of a two year old boy, I know the battle of getting him dressed. Is it a boy thing do you think? Girls seem to love getting dressed on a morning! When on holiday, you want your boys to look stylish but with as little effort as possible. You have to deal with enough at home during the fight to get them dressed, and holidays are supposed to be a little bit more relaxing and out of the home environment – away from the daily struggles. I think there’s a lot of clothing you can pack for your jollies that makes this much easier, whether you’re headed somewhere hot or cold, there’s always certain outfit choices that will come in handy.
For The Heat
If you’re heading somewhere hot this summer for a beachy holiday in the sun, you can think about packing light linen shirts and cotton shorts – a failsafe combo that’s super easy to throw on. The best bit about this combo is that, for me personally, striped shirts are amazing as you can never tell they’re creased, therefore no iron necessary! It’s an outfit that will keep your little one cool yet looking super holiday fresh. Strawberry Children have some lovely options if you want to get in some more flashy bits for dinner out. I’ve been buying in quite a few this summer as they can be found really cheap in places like Tesco, they never need ironing, and they’re a breeze to put on. If your little boy is still in nappies, they usually have a button fastening so that you can change nappies easier too which I love. I never have to battle to get them on Reuben as they’re so easy and they’re super comfy for him too. My favourite outfit of all is a little pair of dunagrees, very similar to a romper, just with the addition of a t-shirt underneath. I find them so easy to style and they always look so cute.
For Cooler Weather
If you’re heading somewhere a bit cooler where it’s going to be not as warm temperatures, you can think about things that are stylish yet comfy, and again, don’t usually need the iron! My personal favourite picks are things like thick knitted leggings (sometimes hard to find for boys, but Zara are a good one for them) and just a woolly jumper or maybe a hooded top. I love little sweatshirts with cute prints on too and I find these are all things that you can literally just throw on them, yet they keep them comfy and warm all day long. Don’t forget some little boots too, paired with leggings I find them so much easier to put on. As opposed to skinny jeans or thick trousers, they always just slide on over leggings which makes the whole shoe saga a breeze! Definitely necessary with a toddler on your hands.
