Five favourites lately...
I'm alive! Cannot believe it's been almost an entire month since I last posted. I've had house issues, website issues, instagram issues... you name it, I've had it. But I'm back and I'm ready to kick out a whole lot of blog content. I thought I'd start off with five things I'm loving lately as that's always an interesting one isn't it, rather than being beauty focused, it's a bit more of a mix with a couple of lifestyle bits! If you fancy finding out what's included in the round-up, then keep reading...
#1. My current favourite fragrance is Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt. I was kindly gifted it by World Duty Free a few weeks ago and I've been addicted ever since! It's a scent that by the name, I would probably never pick up as woody scents are not really my thing at alllllll, however this one is just divine. It came in a gift set in the cutest illustrated tin (how perfect would this be for Christmas?!) and there's a full sized bottle as well as a mini one perfect for my handbag - so lovely. It definitely has that sea salt scent that reminds you of the beach, it's such a fresh fragrance and is completely unisex which I think is what draws me to it the most. There's so many male fragrances I loooove the smell of, but never buy myself as I feel odd wearing them, and the scent is something so different to my usual sweet and fruity go-to's. I definitely recommend giving this a sniff as it won't disappoint.
#2. The Lumity 4-in-1 cleanser is an absolute dream for my skin. I received this as part of an insta campaign that hasn't even gone live yet and I just can't put it down, it's fab. Essentially it's a cleansing balm that's 100% natural, but it also exfoliates the skin and can be used as a mask too. I mix it up, sometimes I'll simply just cleanse/exfoliate with it and other times I'll leave it on longer to get the effects of the mask treatment. It contains activated bamboo charcoal, biodegradable jojoba beads, green tea extract, camellia seed oil & an assortment of essential oils - so all the good stuff. It really cleanses my skin but doesn't dry it out in the slightest and because it exfoliates with the jojoba beads, I come out the shower with such soft skin, I'm obsessed. It has a warming effect as you apply it too which is lovely, especially on these cold evenings. The warming effect is the ingredients drawing out impurities from your skin, it's like a pot of magic honestly, all of my post-period breakouts have cleared up since I started using this cleanser too. It's a beaut!
#3. I've recently been preferring a more natural finish to my base makeup as I find the less layers I have on, the less noticeable it is when I get oily or my redness peeks through. A lot of the time my makeup will just sit on my face throughout the day so because of this I'm opting for a brush application over my beloved beauty blender these days. I'll often go back in with my BB afterwards just to blend it all nicely, but I am definitely a big fan of the brush application at the mo. The foundation brush I'm absolutely loving is the bareMinerals smoothing face brush which works really well for me, it's easy to have control of if that makes sense?! It just applies makeup really well, even my undereye concealer blends in seamlessly with this babe. If you're in the market for a new makeup brush, I love this one.
#4. Next up is a bit more of a lifestyle favourite, and it's a recipe book! I don't know about you, but I love home cooked food but just can't stand cooking. Or washing up. So when I saw this cookery book floating around insta, I was instantly like YES. I need that in my life. It's The Quick Roasting Tin by Rukmini Iyer and it's a game changer in the kitchen. If you're following me on insta, you'll have seen me posting so many recipes I've been cooking from this book already because everything has just been so so good. The best bit is that you literally just chuck everything in a roasting dish, bang it in the oven and bobs your uncle. I love the minimal washing up, especially as someone who doesn't own a dishwasher! I've made tons of stuff from it so far, even from the sweet section; it's got breakfast and sweet dishes, not just savoury ones. Nothing has disappointed, it's all been so tasty, so I really reallyyyy recommend this if you hate faffing about in the kitchen like I do. I had to buy in quite a few spices and things at first but that was purely just because my cupboards are quite bare anyway, but I've not had to buy anything since so it's worth having a flick through and stocking up initially.
#5. The fifth thing I'm absolutely loving is Money Heist on Netflix! Let me know if you've watched it or are watching it; but no spoilers pls. I've just started season two and I'm hooked. It took me ages to get round to watching it despite people telling me how good it was, I just wasn't very keen but now I can see the hype, it's got so many twists and turns and keeps you on edge the whole time. If you liked series like Prison Break or any sort of police dramas then you'll love it.
Do you have any beauty, lifestyle or any other favourites in particular lately?
