giving my hair some TLC...
I've been bleaching my hair for a couple of years now and I use heat on it daily due to it being super frizzy and afro-like every morning without fail - so inevitably, it's caught up with me and my hair has been majorly suffering lately. It's quite frizzy naturally, but recently it has been more frazzled on the ends and the breakage has been relentless. It used to grow fairly quickly but even that came to a complete halt - so I was desperately in need of giving it some TLC to restore it back to normal. Love Locks by Lydia's Hair Supplements couldn't have come into my life at a better time if I'm honest! Love Locks is formulated to help hair growth, as well as repair brittle hair, regrow any baldness, and recover from postpartum hair loss.
I've tried hair strengthening shampoos in the past but never any kind of hair supplement so this was totally new for me. Lydia's Love Locks is is created using a combination of inositol and choline, millet extract, cysteine, pantothenic acid and a mixture of hair-repairing nutrients including biotin, folic acid and MSM. All of these key ingredients help to encourage natural hair growth and keep your hair lovely and healthy! So, let's see how I got on with it shall we?
Did it work for me?
I've been using Love Locks for the past month to ensure that I let my hair fully reap the benefits of the product and to give it enough time to work it's charm on my locks. I can't show you a before and after of how much my hair has grown, as I get it cut regularly because I prefer the 'mum cut' - I find my hair so much more manageable short and I just don't think longer hair suits me anymore. However, I can absolutely comment on the difference in my hair from how it was a month ago, to the condition of it now.
Like I mentioned before, my hair was shedding like crazy, I couldn't even brush my hair without my clothes literally being covered in little bits of hair that had broken away. It was pretty bad. It's reduced at least 80% over the last month and the areas where the breakage clearly showed, have started growing back so quick! My hair is nowhere near as brittle anymore, I'd stopped wanting to wash it & use heat on it in fear of causing it more damage but I'm pretty confident those days are long behind me now. It has a lot more moisture in it rather than feeling so brittle and dry, and I can't tell you how nice it is to finally have lovely soft locks again!
I usually give my hair a chop once a month, and that's about all it needs but I was massively in need of a cut after about two weeks whilst using Love Locks so there was definitely a huge improvement in hair growth with it.
How I take it...
I take other vitamins daily and find it really difficult to remember to take them on a morning with a little one to take care of, but with Love Locks, it's easier as you take it with food! You can keep the bottle in the kitchen and that way it's easier to remember to add it to your meal. You simply just take two teaspoons (10ml) daily, diluted in water or juice. I tend to mix mine with porridge if I'm having a bowl, chuck it in with a smoothie or just add it to my orange/apple juice. It has an orange and carrot flavour which is quite sweet and not unpleasant - I'm not a massive fan of the scent but once it's mixed in with my breakfast of choice it's fine as I can't really taste or smell it!
The liquid form gives a greater absorption than taking hair pills or gummies so if you really want your hair to reap the benefits of the vitamins then this is ideal. Overall I'm so happy with the results, I thought my hair was a lost cause as I had tried so many masks and treatments to no avail and now it's finally back on track to being healthy again.
