All of this time we have to spend in our homes and away from people can be put to good use by doing things that normally we don’t have time to do. One of these things is: pampering ourselves. Pampering yourself will make you feel good and as you practice self-care, it can also help to reduce stress and anxiety.
Here are 5 ways you can pamper yourself at home:
Facial treatment
Start out your at home facial treatment by setting up your space with clean towels and setting out the tools and products you will be using. Using natural and high-quality products like the Blue Lagoon natural products for your skin, will help boost the efficacy of your facial and skincare, help to avoid skin sensitivities, and nourish your skin.
Then, follow these steps:
1. Remove all makeup and cleanse with a gentle cleanser
2. Steam
3. Exfoliate
4. Treatment/Mask
5. Apply skincare
Soak in a luxurious bath
A bath is soothing, relaxing and a way for you to unwind and release tension. Make it luxurious by setting your space, lighting candles and setting out a nice robe when you get out. Add Epsom salts or a bath bomb to your bath for extra relaxation and health benefits. You can also apply a facemask and sprinkle in some flower petals for an extra touch of luxury.
Show your hair some love
While you are spending time at home, hopefully you are giving your hair a break from heat styling! Show your hair some extra love by doing some home hair treatments and avoiding extra stress on it. You can do a simple coconut oil mask or use your favorite hair mask. To avoid breakage at home, use a silk band or scrunchie to tie your hair back and don’t pull too tightly.
Give yourself a mani
Your nails are an important part of any pampering routine. While going out to get a mani/pedi can get expensive quickly, you can do an at-home manicure to get great results at an effective price. Tools you’ll need are: basic nail tool kit, cuticle oil, cotton pads, nail polish, nail files, nail buffer, and nail polish remover. Every so often it is a good idea to let your nails breathe and go without nail polish, so while you are at home is a great time! Just focus your manicure on buffing, shaping, and cleaning up your cuticles.
Go make-up free or keep it minimal
While you are at home and indulging in some extra pampering, opt for minimal or zero make-up to let your skin breathe and your skincare products to work their magic on their own. If you like to have a little bit of makeup on to feel put together for the day and be more productive, try just applying mascara, brushing your brows, and/or opting for your favorite (natural) lipstick.
Pampering yourself is a great way to feel better (and look better) and also to pass time in a relaxing way. Self-care is always a good idea!
