If you know my interior style well, you'll know that my favourite way to add colour and character to my home is through prints. I have gallery walls everywhere and I just can't get enough of them! I used to be an artist/illustrator myself, I have a degree in Graphic Design, a love for interiors, and artwork placed all around my home just really satisfies my love for creativity & art.
One of the things that I love about prints around the home also, is that they can be easily replaced and shifted around. I tend to get pretty tired of spaces easily and I just enjoy giving things a refresh so I love that prints are so easy to swap around, whether that just be swapping out a print inside one of my existing frames or completely redesigning a gallery wall.
I've collaborated with Poster Store to give my home a lick of colour and my gallery walls a refresh and I'm loving how everything is looking so far. I haven't been too happy with the prints in my bedroom lately, so that's the room that I have focused on the most, but I'm obsessed with the artwork in here now. I'm always looking at it and it constantly leaves me feeling inspired which is exactly what I like the interior of my home to do!
I love the huge array of prints that Poster Store have to choose from, my personal favourites when it comes to artwork are the illustrative & abstract prints. The gallery wall above my desk area was in desperate need of a refresh as the previous prints were so bland with such a lack of colour. I guess that's what I originally wanted, but I just felt it needed a little pop of colour without being too much. I picked the Abstract Silhouette No1 Poster which is a nice illustrative print, whilst it's not too colourful it's lovely and bold and complimented the floral print I already had next to it well. For my first pop of colour, I fell in love with the Fleur de Jardin Botanique Poster which I think is so gorgeous. I love a floral print and I have been loving adding lots of green tones to my home recently so this was a must-have for me. For the final print for this space, I really liked the Astronomic Women Poster as I really like crescent moon and star shapes. I liked that this one wasn't overly colourful but still adds a pop of colour to the space, and the orange tones go nicely with the decor already there. Overall I think this gallery wall makeover turned out beautifully and I love how they all look together. These work great above any sort of desk area or even some of the gorgeous sideboards you can get. The SENA modern sideboards work perfectly with coloured prints.
The other corner of my bedroom next to my desk is a little dressing area with some picture ledges that I like to decorate with trinkets and bits & bobs. I already had a couple of prints on it, but I wanted to add another colourful one to the space and I picked the All Colors Are Beautiful Poster which is a gorgeous print representing women of colour and fits in really nicely with my other girls print too. I love how it's brought the area together and it's one of my favourite corners!
You might be wondering at this point how I can fit so many prints in one room, but my bedroom is absolutely huge. That's why it's a cross between a bedroom, dressing space and office space. It took me a really long time to get a nice balance of cosy homeness in here due to the room size being so big, so there was a lot of trial and error. I recently added a shelf above my panelling and I popped some prints up there, but the theme is black & white, which admittedly does tie in nicely with the neutral tones and grey upholstered bed, but I felt it was a bit dark. I added the White Peonies Poster from Poster Store to the space just to add a nice balance and brighten it up a little, and it works lovely. I felt like adding a fifth print too, so to tie in with the others I picked the Brigitte Bardot Poster which I love. I have really high ceilings in the upstairs of my house so I love how this gallery wall has come together and filled a big blank space!
The last print I picked was the Blooming Seed Poster which is one of my favourites overall. I picked this in the large size of 50x70 so it was a hard one to place, but I ended up putting it in my little bathroom. My bathroom reno is still in progress so I'm not finished in here yet, but I think it works really well in here and goes nicely with the bathroom plants too. The wall it's on was previously completely blank so it's nice to have a big print to add some character to it. Isn't it lovely?!
Have you shopped at Poster Store before? Do you love the huge selection of prints they have to offer? 🙂
