If you are bored of paint or wallpaper, panelling could be the answer you were looking for. Fixtures
If you are on a tighter budget but still want that newer look, you could consider just changing the taps in the kitchen and bathroom. You could also change all the door handles, and think about the light switches too. Upgrading these can give a much newer finish without the expense of upgrading everything. It is also a handy trick if you are pushed for time too.
