Do you have regular catch ups with your friends? One of the best ways to get in some quality time with them is to have a girls night in. You can find out how your favourite friends are getting on in the comfort of your own home.
Better still, you can make the night all about your group. From in-jokes to a theme they’ll love, this a great opportunity to create a memorable evening. If you’re looking for ideas, read on. We’ve got your girls night in covered.
Get organised
Begin your party prep by getting the essentials sorted. First, can everyone make it? It can be tricky getting everyone together, so why not create a poll giving them a few options for dates? This a quick and easy way to see who can make it and what the best day will be for everyone. Date in place, you can then focus on the planning!
Create your theme
If you’re just having a small gathering, you can personalise this by including references to things your friendship group will understand. Maybe you could put some posters on the walls or include little notes that nod to nights out you’ve had in the past.
Alternatively, if you’re going for a big theme, you could take some time to plan this. For instance, if you’re having a movie night, line up your favourite films and prepare the popcorn. Or if you’re having a games night, make sure you have your roulette table set up, your cards ready, or your online bingo site linked up to your main screen so that everyone can see.
Dress up
What’s the dress code? This will be dictated by the theme. So, do you want everyone to arrive in their comfiest clothes for a cosy film night? Or maybe you’re going all-out with a casino theme and you’d like your friends to dress in their finest?
Let everyone know ahead of time if you want to make this an all-out party so that they can prepare.
Stock up on snacks
As this is a casual night in, you can make the food your way. You might want to set up a buffet-style table, where your friends can select from cheeses, snacks and deli food.
Alternatively, you could go with an afternoon tea theme, with finger sandwiches, scones and cakes or maybe try fun food like sliders and fries.
Tidy up
You’ll want a welcoming space so that everyone feels relaxed in your home. If you need to declutter and clean up, try to get on top of this ahead of your night in. Stash away everything and rope in family members to make sure everything’s clean and tidy.
Be the host
Make sure your guests are happy! Top up drinks, check that everyone has enough food, and look after your friends.
But most of all, enjoy your night! This will be fun.
