I finally bought into the hype of the Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze & Glow palette last week. I have seen it all over Instagram and all over beauty blogs and resisted the urge to buy it, telling myself I didn’t need another contour palette. I got paid for some design work last week so I decided that I deserved a little (very expensive) treat 😉 But I am so so glad I caved, this is the best contour palette everrrrrrr. Whilst I still love my ABH contour palette, it comes with 6 shades and I barely use three of them, I also find that I always go a tad overboard with it and can look a bit crazy. With the CT Bronze & Glow, the colours are really subtle and even though they are buildable, you can’t really look like you’ve gone overboard and turned into a orange/muddy mess. The other CT product that I now own is the lipstick in ‘Bitch Perfect’ which I actually won from a blogger’s competition over on A Scottish Lass. Keep reading for swatches & my thoughts on the two products.
First off, can we just appreciate how beautiful the Charlotte Tilbury packaging is? My order came all perfectly packaged in purple tissue paper with a rose gold sticker with the logo on which was a gorgeous little touch. And for the final touches, the receipt for the order was on top in a cream coloured envelope with rose gold writing on, another really cute addition. The whole parcel just looked and felt really luxurious and special compared to the usual kind of deliveries you get. The CT products themselves are also encased in beautiful deep purple packaging finished off with rose gold text, so even if you buy in store, you’ll still get to appreciate all of these little touches.
So of course, CT products come in this super pretty rose gold casing which is literally to die for. I almost didn’t want to use them and ruin the perfection! However, of course I was dying to try them out so it was inevitable.
Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze & Glow
So the bronze and glow palette literally has two shades and that’s it, a sculpting shade and a highlight shade. The sculpt shade is a warm brown that can be built up to contour the cheek bones and other areas of the face, as well as just used with a light hand as a bronzer for all over the face. It is very very pigmented, my ABH palette is not even comparable, my brushes don’t pick up colour half as easy as they do with this palette, it’s like a dream. I like to build it up quite a lot to try and bring out my non-existent cheek bones and even with a lot of product, it still looks so natural, it’s amazing! There is a show of some subtle shimmer in the sculpt shade whilst in the palette, but it can’t be seen on the face whatsoever, even with how heavy I build it up. The highlight shade is easily what’s most hyped about this product, it’s a beautiful golden champagne toned highlight, that’s perfect for any skin tone. I particularly wanted this for my skin because I have yellow undertones and all my highlighters are either on the white or pink side and just don’t look right at all. Because this highlight is on the golden side, it compliments my yellow undertones perfectly and I don’t think I’ll ever use a different highlighter again! Both shades in the palette blend with ease too. It is a hefty £49 but it’s totally worth every penny.
Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Bitch Perfect Lipstick
Moving onto the CT lipstick in Bitch Perfect, this is the first lipstick I have ever tried from CT, and I absolutely love this shade. I’m really into nude shades at the moment and this shade is another to add to my favourites. Bitch Perfect is a warm toned pink that’s very flattering against any skin tone, the formula is really creamy and long lasting and is very moisturising. The lipstick has a satin finish and is the perfect nude, especially if you’re quite pale like I am. I almost bought this when I was in Selfridges in London back in June but never did, I’ve been missing out all of this time!
So overall I’m really really happy with both of these products, they look gorgeous on my dresser too. Have you tried any Charlotte Tilbury products yet?
