Sometimes we want to be able to update our home, or a certain room, without having to move house. Here are some creative ways to upgrade and modernise your home and make it a space the whole family wants to be in.
Add Light
A great way to refresh your home is to make it feel light and airy. This could be by adding in some modern downlighters to the room. These can add a lot of light to an otherwise dark space that just has one ceiling light in the middle of the room. You can also use floor lamps or table lamps to add some light to a corner of a room. If you are wanting to add more natural light to a space, then Keylite pitched roof windows are the way to go. If you have a pitched roof, want to maximise the space and benefit from being flooded with natural light, while also injecting some style into the room, then add a pitched roof window.
Change The Internal Doors
If you want to update your room, an easy way to do it that isn’t always considered is to get new doors. They are the entryway to the room, after all, and can really help set the tone and style of a room. There are so many options to choose from. If the room is off a dark entrance way, then you may want to consider a glazed or partially glazed door. If you have a shaker style kitchen, then why not go for a shaker style door too. You can change your doors to give a modern or traditional classic feel to your house, but be sure to consider what you want throughout the whole of the house as you will probably want them to match. Take a look at Online Door Store for plenty of ideas to suit all styles.
Add Greenery
Another great way to instantly add a fresh feel to your space is to add some house plants. In fact, these don’t always have to be green. Some house plants have gorgeous pink leaves that work to add a different pop of colour to a space. By adding plants to your home, not only are you benefitting health wise as they help purify the air, but they also add some texture to the room. They are easy to move around the house, if you want to change things up, and help brighten up a dreary corner space too.
Add Wall Art
Buying art does not have to be expensive. There are plenty of trendy wall art prints available to purchase now, which makes adding art to your walls affordable and easy. It is a great way to update your space. Create a gallery wall with some of your favourite pictures, or perhaps add a couple of shelves that you can add art to, as well as candles and plants. Artwork in frames is easily changed over the years and is perhaps easier than giving the room a repaint.
So, if you want an easy way to update a room at home, why not pick one or two of these options to start with. You will soon find you have made your home a more welcoming space to be in.
