One of the best parts about Christmas is the build up itself, a little treat for every day of December makes the big day itself so much more exciting. My children love running downstairs on a morning and having a chocolate treat from their Advent Calendar before school, it’s a small festive ritual, but it really does make those December mornings so magical.
Chocolate advent calendars are the classic choice for those daily December treats, but they aren’t the only option out there if you’re not one for a sweet treat. Advent calendars have come a long way from the classic chocolate ones that I had when I was younger, there are so many lovely options out there now.
This year, Very have an amazing selection of advent calendars and there really is something for everyone, so that the whole family can get excited for the December countdown. Not only that, but they have a Festive Beauty Box worth over Β£360 for just Β£75 and it’s such a steal!
If you prefer non-chocolate advent calendars for your littles, or just want them to have something that’s a bit more exciting, then the toy advent calendars are perfect. I personally picked out the Hot Wheels Advent Calendar for my four year old who is obsessed with Hot Wheels, he’s already seen it and is constantly asking when December starts as he’s super excited! I also picked the Lego Marvel Advent Calendar for my eldest who loves both Lego & Marvel. I think my boys will share these and maybe do a door each on alternate days but they’re both super lovely calendars.
If you love beauty products and trying out new ones, then the beauty box makes a lovely December treat where you can pick out something new every morning. I know it would certainly improve my mornings and make getting ready for the day a little bit more exciting than usual! A beauty box is also a lovely way to have a bit more me time during what is usually the busiest month of the year. The Very Beauty Box has in some lovely pamper treats like a satin eye mask, some hydrating face masks and eye gels, a face roller, hair serums and so much more.
And if toys and beauty aren’t quite your thing (I’m looking at my husband!) then they also have other options such as the Bosch Advent Calendar which is a mans dream, full of a variety of tools. It’s a 41-piece mixed set that I believe makes up a mini tool kit. My husband is very excited to dive into this come December 1st.
There’s also options for a more luxurious little treat too, if plain chocolate is a bit too boring for you. I picked out the Hotel Chocolat Advent Calendar for 2 which is an advent filled with 48 truffles from Hotel Chocolat, one for you and one for your partner for every day until Christmas. There’s a gingerbread praline, salted caramel cream, raspberry rush and loads of others. This is the one that I personally can’t wait to open – I do love a yummy chocolate!
Are you looking forward to the Christmas countdown?
