Are you worth it?
So I’ve rounded up 5 of my beauty products that have been bought after reading raving reviews, a couple of them are pretty new to my beauty collection and the others I’ve had for a good while now. I thought I’d add my input to the circle and explain the good and bad factors that come with these products. I think these are 5 things that most people have either already got or have at least heard about, so it might be interesting to read an opinion that may differ to yours or may be on the same page.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation;
I’ve written about this a couple of times already, it’s been my holy grail foundation for a long time and it still is. If you have oily skin it’s an absolute must have because it just keeps your face matte for the longest time and is one of the very few foundations that won’t just smear off the face. I can’t really think of any bad things about this other than it might not be the best foundation for people with incredibly dry skin as it keeps mine so matte. It’s got absolutely amazing coverage and it doesn’t cling to any dry patches that I sometimes get. 100% worth the hype!
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer;
I bought this after wanting a really light concealer that wouldn’t crease under my eyes. Now I love Nars for their wide shade range and this concealer in the shade ‘Chantilly’ is the perfect shade for brightening under the eye area and other areas of the face. But. It still creases under my eyes and that’s the one thing I wasn’t expecting from this concealer after reading so many reviews saying that it doesn’t. I don’t know if it’s just my skin type or what because I know it works so well for a lot of people, but for the price I just can’t justify repurchasing it when it pretty much works no differently to my Collection concealer. Not worth the hype for me unfortunately.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick;
I’ve got the shade ‘Lolita II’ and I fell in love with it the first time I saw it on Instagram and I’ve been lusting after it ever since. This is a recent purchase of mine and the shade is just as pretty as I thought it would be, I love it. The formula is pretty good, it’s matte and it does last but when eating certain foods it completely comes off in the middle of my lips and I don’t really expect that from an ‘Everlasting Liquid Lipstick’ – I have one of Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks & the formula of that one doesn’t do this so it’s a bit annoying. But I guess because it doesn’t completely come off my lips, I can say that this is worth the hype, plus this shade is so beaut.
Beauty Blender;
So I’m very late to the party with this one, it’s one of my most recent beauty buys and it’s my first ‘real’ beauty blender. I had a Real Techniques one a long time ago but I didn’t really like it. I’ve not really been loving the finish I get with my foundation brush lately, I’ve had a few dry patches and it’s just been clinging to them and looking all flakey and gross. So I was watching a few youtube vids where a beauty blender was used and the finish on the foundation was so so nice, so I decided to invest in one. I’ve only used it once and I’m in love already, it gives the most flawless finish that the Real Techniques one never did. It’s incredibly soft and doesn’t absorb all your foundation, and the finish is so much more smoother than with my foundation brush. I find it applies my foundation a lot lighter but in a way that makes it much more natural looking and less heavy rather than caked on. This is 100% worth the hype and I highly recommend one (make sure it’s the real thing) if you have never had one like me, I’ve been missing out all this time!
Mac Lipstick;
This product is very debatable, I mean I don’t think I’ve seen any Beauty Bloggers that don’t own at least one Mac Lipstick but I’ve also seen lots of posts on why they’re not worth the hype. I do have to admit that some of them don’t have the best staying power, but then again with a good lip liner they have the potential to. I love Mac Lipsticks for the shade range, there’s nothing like them. I can go into any Mac store and fall in love with literally every single shade, even ones that I’d probably never wear. And I guess since I own 9 of the things, I would say they’re definitely worth the hype for me – I want more!
What do you think to these products? Worth the hype for you?
