Over the last few months, I've made so many changes to my home and I still have lots of big plans. I've really enjoyed becoming more of an interiors blogger since moving into my house last year and my views & engagement have increased too so it's inevitable that I'm going to share more of it. I really enjoy home accounts on instagram and browsing Pinterest for inspiration (although I get really jealous of everyones gorgeous homes!) and I love hunting down bargains and doing little DIYs. I think what makes it even more fun is having a budget to work with, because I end up spending hours browsing the web for bits within my budget that will still make a statement and I don't just buy any old thing that takes my fancy. I'm in the process of making some changes to the main rooms in my house and I thought that I would share some of my ideas and inspiration without just sharing the finished result afterwards. Here are some of my plans if you fancy a read...

I've been working on my lounge a lot lately, I've half painted it in Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone which is a lovely neutral shade, I just need to finish it off by doing the other half of the room. I've also been wanting a new sofa for about a year but they're quite the investment and it's just not something I feel I can justify the cost of yet but it's on my agenda. Mine is a really nice sofa, but I just want something a bit more lounge-y, maybe one with a foot stool or a corner sofa. I'd also like to opt for a really light grey or beige instead of the darker grey tone that I have. I thought about upholstering mine but the cost is so expensive that you may as well just buy new. I think I'd like a different style anyway. I love the ones in the photos above.
I'd also love to change the flooring in my lounge too. When I moved into my new home around a year ago, I rushed into choosing flooring for each room in my house and I definitely regret some of the choices that I made. The laminate in my lounge is really quite dark and as it's only got one window, on dull days it can be so dark in there that I think a lighter wood floor would brighten it up a lot. I was on a tight budget back then and didn't think my choices through very well, but if I ever have a larger budget for flooring I'd love to go for engineered wood flooring as it's so gorgeous. Flooring365 do some gorgeous options, in particular I love the natural oak and distressed oak.

I'm currently giving my kitchen a little makeover too, I started with the dining side and now I'm working on the actual kitchen area. I have a really cheap laminate kitchen and whilst it wasn't awful, it lacked in colour and character so I've ended up panelling my cupboard doors, priming them and now I'm going to paint them in a light grey. I'm also in the middle of getting the walls tiled (thanks to my dad, legend) and I'm then going to add new handles to the cupboards and put up some open shelving to add lots of character. I have a really small kitchen so it will never be ideal but hopefully it will look a lot cuter once it's finished!
I'd also like to switch up the gallery wall in my lounge, I do love it the way it is but I feel like it's very bland and would love to mix it up with a bit more colour and contrast. I love the one in the image above, it's gorgeous! I'm also obsessed with that hallway. I don't think mine will ever look that nice as it's so narrow and dark but eventually I'd like to have a go at giving it a revamp. I did a post on the makeover I did after I first moved in but I feel like my tastes have changed a lot since then and instead of the black & white theme I originally went for, I'd love to add more brown tones and warmth. Hopefully that would brighten it up a little too.
