A round-up of my favourite fragrances...
With a house move on the cards, I've been using it as the perfect opportunity to completely de-clutter my life. This includes all of my fragrances, which was a ridiculously big collection, with half of it being totally unused. I find when I invest in higher end fragrances, they last me so much longer, so I definitely don't need to have a large collection. I've rounded up the fragrances that I reach for regularly to share which ones they are and what I love about them, keep reading for more!
YSL Libre Eau de Parfum
I absolutely love Libre by Yves Saint Laurent, it's one of the perfumes I reach for on a very regular basis. I don't know if you can tell from the photo but it's running very low! It's a very sophisticated scent with a little bit of sweetness, it's got notes of bourbon vanilla, lavender, neroli and orange blossom. It's a very floral based scent, but without being that overpowering powdery floral. I think the hints of vanilla, mandarin and cedarwood balance it out beautifully and the lavender gives it a little masculinity so that it's not sickly sweet. I always get compliments when I wear it.
Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede
Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede is such a popular scent, and it's not hard to see why. It's so floral and feminine and really matches any and every occasion. I know many who've used this as their entire wedding scent, or find this a firm favourite in their perfume collection. It's quite a delicate fragrance which is easy to see why so many favour it, and contains sweet notes of red apple to give it a fruity twist. The peony floral scent still comes through strong, without being overpowering and smelling like a florist, and the suede compliments the notes, perfectly balancing the sweet floral notes.
Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt
I really didn't think I'd love a fragrance like Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt, but it's definitely up there with my favourites. I've always been into fruity and very feminine fragrances, however Wood Sage & Sea Salt is such a unisex fragrance and can easily be worn by everyone. The notes of sage come through strong on this one, with sea salt notes keeping it lovely and fresh, and notes of ambrette seeds making it smell really sophisticated. It's very different to what I'd usually go for which makes it a nice change to wear, and I love layering it with Peony & Blush Suede to give it a more feminine touch!
Diptyque Eau Rose Eau de Parfum
I discovered I love the scent of roses years ago when I had some rose scented items from The Body Shop, so it was inevitable I had to get a rose fragrance to add to my perfume collection. Diptyque Eau Rose is such a beautiful scent, it's got that sharp scent of roses which is very strong and floral, but with lots and lots of sweetness added to it, keeping it feminine and romantic. I really do adore this fragrance every time I wear it.
Jo Malone Scarlet Poppy
Jo Malone Scarlet Poppy is the newest fragrance to my collection and I've been wearing it pretty much daily recently. The notes of poppy are delightful but combined with notes of ambrette, tonka bean, almond, vanilla and tobacco, it creates such a delicately sweet scent that makes it perfect for every day wear. I really do need to get this in candle form as I'm addicted!
Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka
If you can't already tell, I'm clearly a big Jo Malone fan... and Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka is no exception. I only have a teeny tiny bottle of this, but it's incredible so it won't be long until I purchase a full size. This one is another nice change to my usual fragrance choice, as it's less sweet and more rich and unisex with it's hint of masculinity. It's got notes of lavender, namibian myrrh, amber, tonka bean, almond and vanilla, creating a very sensual and unique scent. I love spraying this around my bathroom as well as wearing it.
