The USA is massive and it’s no surprise that none of us manage to see it all in one holiday. In fact, usually we are lucky to see more than two cities it’s that big! I’ve put together five destinations perfect for a family holiday USA based, that will maybe give you some good ideas for your next family travels. If the planning is a bit much for you, then Littleamerica also offer packages giving you a care-free family holiday by organising everything for you!
Orlando
We’ll start with the obvious go-to destination, and that’s Orlando! Orlando is theme park galore and the perfect destination for a family to go on holiday. It’s home to the famous Walt Disney World, which is a must-see at least once during your lifetime, and who better to share it with than your family? But Orlando is also home to many other theme parks including Universal Studios which is another amazing resort filled with fun things for the family to see and do. SeaWorld is a super fun one too, you’ll never be bored!
Chicago
Chicago is full of fun-filled family activities all within minutes of walking, which makes it perfect for children with little legs. There’s the Field Museum, Lincoln Park Zoo and Chicago Children’s Museum to name a few. Millennium Park is a great spot for a family walk, and it’s free too! There’s also Navy Pier with lots of fun rides to go on including a big ferris wheel. If you want a good mix of things for both the adults and the children, then Chicago is a great place to book.
Boston
Boston is home to the second oldest children’s museum in the world, and not one to miss. In Boston you can not only experience that, but you can go to the beach, you can go hiking, kayaking or even surfing! If you’re an adventurous, outdoorsy type of family then Boston may be the perfect spot for you. The city has so much history and architecture, as well as world-class museums. It really is the best of both worlds.
Grand Canyon National Park
Grand Canyon National Park is another great location for exploring the outdoors. With opportunities to become a junior ranger, go on bike trails, ride a WWII restored train, or spend an evening star spotting, there is rakes of stuff to do. I imagine visiting the Grand Canyon would be the trip of a lifetime, with views that you’ll be daydreaming about for the rest of your life!
Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe gives you the best destination for a bit of sunbathing, hiking or even skiing. It’s an all-year-round family favourite. The beautiful blue lake is a beautiful sight on it’s own, but there is also so many things to do making it a favourite holiday spot. There’s mountain gondola rides, hot air balloon flights, and cruises across the mirrored water.
Have you been to America? What destination would be on your bucket list?
