A few beauty favourites this month...
I can't even remember the last time I posted my beauty faves! I have so many lately, honestly. I'm completely obsessed with all things blush and glowing complexions at the moment so that's what my current makeup routine revolves around. There's a bit of a mix today, skincare, makeup, fragrance... you're in for a real treat!
HOURGLASS VANISH FOUNDATION STICK
My most-reached for foundation lately is the vanish foundation stick from Hourglass. Now, this is quite a pricey foundation at Β£42 but mine never seems to run out! It's easily the longest lasting foundation I've ever owned. It's just so pigmented, creamy and blends like a dream whilst leaving me with a completely natural and flawless finish. It covers everything up so well that I only use a tiny bit of concealer in a lighter shade under my eyes to brighten them up. I went through a period of not using this for yonks, simply because I used it so much that I thought I was going to use it all up and combined with the hefty price tag... well you can see why I wanted to savour some of it! Anyway, I recently decided that I wanted to pick it back up again and I basically haven't put it down since. I've been alternating between this and a new tinted moisturiser to my collection, sometimes even mixing them both together if I've felt I needed a bit of extra coverage in areas. I have combination skin and this is far from a drying foundation but it doesn't seem to accentuate my oiliness either, so win win.Β
IT COSMETICS CC+ CREME BLUSH
I was gifted a couple of bits from IT Cosmetics a while back and one of the products was their colour correction anti-aging creme blush in the shade naturally pretty.Β I can't seem to find this on their UK site, just the US one which is a shame. I absolutely love it! I rarely ever got along with cream products but I'm a changed girl since this blush arrived, it's so easy to blend in for a really natural flush of colour to my cheeks. It has properties to reduce the appearance of imperfections and give your skin a lit-from-within glow which is exactly what it does. The best thing about this blush is that it almost feels like it sinks into my skin rather than just 'sitting' on it like a powder tends to do. It lasts so much longer and it's amazing to use on those no-makeup-makeup-days where you really can't be bothered but want to avoid looking like a sick person. I just love it!
FENTY KILLAWATT HIGHLIGHT DUO
I'm admittedly, very late to the Fenty party - I've been meaning to pick something up for so long and just haven't got around to it. That and the fact that I just didn't know what to go for! I had my eyes on the highlights most, and recently, with them now being stocked in boots, I came across a counter and gave the killawatt freestyle highlight duo a swatch. And essentially, that was that. I simply just fell in love at first swatch, Honestly it really is a beauty, it gives the best glow. Out of all the highlighters I own, I notice this one pop the most when I apply it, the glow is just something else. I love that you get two options too, one is a bit more muted for everyday wear (but still glowy!) and the other one is POPPIN'. They're both so pigmented and beautiful, and they just blend like an absolute dream. I apply mine with a big fluffy fan brush that I picked up from Primark and it's a one swipe kinda deal, it just glides along the tops of my cheekbones like a piece of ice. I am so so glad I picked this up and it's made me very excited to add more Fenty to my stash, and maybe try the foundations next? Heard good things!
TARTE SHAPE TAPE
I think I can safely say that Tarte shape tape is now my fave concealer... I use it every single day without fail. It covers my dark under eye circles and brightens up the entire area, covers redness and imperfections like a dream and it even mixes well with some of my foundations that are a bit too dark if I am lacking in the fake tan department. It's just a one-does-it-all kinda concealer. Sometimes I even use this if I can't be bothered with foundation as a tiny bit goes such a long way and covers up almost everything. This is my first tube and whilst I don't own a whole lot from Tarte - I will 100% be repurchasing this bad boy as I honestly don't think I can live without it anymore. It's the dreaaam.
NARS BLUSH IN DESIRE
Another favourite blush of mine lately is the shade Desire from NARS. I picked this up in Krakow as I ventured into Sephora to see them having a huge clear out. It had 50% off! Who can say no to that?! If you read my blog regularly, you probably already know that NARS is my absolute favourite brand so a discounted, perfectly good blush, is what I'm all about. I've been looking for a cooler toned pink blush for a while now too so it was almost like fate. If you like a real pop of bright pink on your cheeks like I do at the moment, then this is the one. It's so pretty and the perfect pink tone for summer.
PIXI MAKEUP FIXING MIST
I've never been huge on setting sprays, but over the past couple of months, my skin has been extremelyyyy dry. My makeup just seems to go caked all the time and honestly, setting sprays have been a life saver. I've got a couple from Pixi that I'm using quite a bit, firstly the makeup fixing mist, as well as the rose glow mist. These are both priced at only Β£16 each which I think is amazing for how good they are. The makeup fixing mist helps to keep my makeup intact all day long whilst avoiding the cakey-ness I get from the dry areas - and the rose glow mist just leaves my skin feeling so refreshed. I love spraying it all over my beauty blender before applying base products to keep everything nice and dewy!
RA OILS ACNE THERAPY OIL
A few weeks ago, I had the most horrendous acne breakout and I think this acne therapy face oil from RA Oils was a life saver to be honest. It's a blend of 100% pure essential oils including rosehip fruit oil, as well as antibacterial lavender oil. The blend of oils work to reduce inflammation and scarring, whilst evening out your skin tone. I've been using it for weeks and you can't even tell I had acne just a short few weeks back. Not only has it been amazing at helping cure all of my breakouts but it's super hydrating too so I've found it so incredibly soothing using it every evening on my dehydrated skin. I tend to get quite oily in my t-zone as I have combination skin and it hasn't made me any oilier than usual either. It comes with a hefty price tag, but if you suffer from acne I definitely think it's worth adding to your skincare routine.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY SEXY SIENNA
What's a beauty round-up without a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick thrown in right? CT lippies are basically my holy-grail for everyday wear. They are just so quick and easy to apply whilst leaving my lips super hydrated and looking lovely and ugh. The obsession is real. My latest favourite is the beaut that is also known as sexy sienna,Β it's a pink coral shade that's essentially just your perfect summer lip. I've been wearing it alone as well as mixed with other shades and I can't get enough! It lasts all day too, the matte revolution lipsticks from CT are a must-have.
JO MALONE PEONY & BLUSH SUEDE
I've been lusting after the peony & blush suede fragrance from Jo Malone for some time, and it's my birthday this week so I decided to treat myself to it finally! I've wanted the 100ml bottle rather than the 30ml so as you can image £94 is a lot to splash out on a new fragrance when you don't really need any more - but I always tend to get some ££ for my birthday so what better way to spend it?! I am rubbish at describing scents but I would say it's like a powdered floral with sweet hints of fruityness added in. It's just so delicate and feminine and it's by far my new fave fragrance to wear.
So that's a wrap for my beauty faves this month, have you got anything you're loving in particular at the mo?
