I’ve picked up some new beauty bits over the past few weeks and I’ve been saving them all to do a little haul as it’s been a while since I’ve done one. Most of these things have been on my wish list for aaaages and I finally own them so I’m extremely happy with what I’ve bought. I picked up a couple of things in Sephora whilst I was in Paris, but not as much as I actually wanted to get, I wish they sold all the brands they do in the US in the Sephora’s in Paris, bit of a shame! But anyway I got some other things I’ve had my eye on for a while so it wasn’t all bad. I think I now own enough eyeshadow to last me a decade, so many palettes. So yeah, here’s the lowdown on alllllll my new makeup.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation: Porcelain
I don’t try out new foundations very often unless they’re drugstore usually, but I’ve read a lot of reviews on the Too Faced Born This Way and I’ve been dying to try it out. I picked it up when I was in a Sephora in Paris so that I could swatch the shades and make sure that I got the right one. It looked fine in the store, it didn’t look any different from my Estee Lauder Double Wear shade that matches me pretty well. But when I’d got home and used it for the first time, I looked tanned! I’m a bit annoyed that Too Faced can get away with naming this shade ‘Porcelain’ when I have pale skin and always go for the porcelain shades and let me tell you, this is far from a shade for pale girls! I’ve actually been wearing this anyway even though people probably think I look orange, because I do love the formula. It’s a yellow toned shade which is good for my yellow undertones (if it wasn’t so dark) which drugstore foundations never have. It’s quite a thick foundation but it spreads out evenly, I only use two or three small pumps to cover my face. It’s got such good coverage, not light at all but you can’t feel it on your face, especially with how little I applied. I got this also because it’s oil free, which doesn’t necessarily mean it’s for oily skin but it worked pretty well with mine. I got ever so slightly oily in my T-Zone area after about 7 hours wear, but that’s practically all day so no complaints from me! This would definitely be a holy grail foundation for me if it wasn’t for the shade being too dark, but I’d highly recommend it to anyone that can match it to their skin perfectly π
Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquid Lipstick: Chocolate Milkshake
I’ve wanted to try the Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipsticks forever and still hadn’t, so this was another item that I also picked up in Sephora. I swatched the shades and went for ‘Chocolate Milkshake’ because it’s a really pretty nude. I love the formula of these, they’re really moisturising with a hint of gloss and last a long time on the lips. They don’t last throughout eating but that doesn’t really bother me as they’re so easy to apply with the sponge tip applicator and you can top back up within seconds. I’ll definitely be investing in more shades in the future!
Sephora Collection Hand Cream & Perfume: Mango
I had to pick up another Sephora hand cream as I’ve had my Vanilla one for ages and it smells absolutely gorgeous and is so moisturising for my dry hands. I picked up one in Mango this time and omg it smells so so nice. I also got a travel size perfume in Mango and these are just two really good things to have in your handbag at all times! They both smell divine and were only about 5 euros each so you can’t go wrong!
Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette: Golden Sugar
I got this because the shades in it look so pretty and glowy and the highlight shades are beaut. It’s another really nice affordable palette by MR that has a mixture of bronzers, blushes and highlights. Definitely a winner with me and it’s perfect for an all in one to take travelling!
Makeup Revolution Ultra 32 Shade Palette: Flawless Matte
I’ve been wanting this palette for so long, I was desperate to have an all matte eyeshadow palette in my collection that has numerous different shades for all kinds of different eyeshadow looks. I always struggle with the mattes that come in other palettes as they kinda make every eyeshadow look the same and I want to mix it up a bit. So this palette is perfect. Some of the shades are more pigmented than others like with most MR eyeshadow palettes, but I don’t like my crease shades to be really pigmented anyway so I’m really happy with this palette!
Zoeva Eyeshadow Palette: Cocoa Blend
I was so happy when I found out I won this palette from Beauteur’s Giveaway, I’ve been after a Zoeva palette for a long time! I got to choose which one I received and I picked the Cocoa Blend palette as it looked the nicest by far. I’m suuuuuuper happy with it, the shades are so so pigmented and they’re all so pretty. I’ve used this palette a couple of times now and I’ve had compliments on my eye makeup so it’s definitely a winner.
The Balm Nude ‘Tude Palette
I think everyone now owns this palette, I literally see it everywhere. It’s one my sister has owned for ages and I’ve always given it the eye but never felt the need to purchase it for myself. When I got it in my March Cohorted Beauty Box I was verrrrry happy to say the least. I absolutely love the shades in it, there’s some really really gorgeous shimmers in there and I can’t wait to do an eye makeup look with it!
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick: Lolita II
I can’t tell you how long I’ve waited to get my hands on one of Kat Von D’s liquid lipsticks, they honestly have the nicest shade range I’ve ever seen in liquid lipsticks. My favourite shade that I’ve seen swatched has always been Lolita II so it’s the first shade that I got my hands on. It’s a really beautiful shade, described as a ‘terra cotta nude.’ It’s not as nude as it’s looked in swatches, but still gorgeous nevertheless and I could barely remove it from my arm so it’s safe to say it lives by it’s name. I haven’t worn it on my lips yet as it only arrived today but I can’t wait to try it out for the day!
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed: Moonstone
I was gutted when they didn’t sell Becca in Sephora in Paris, I even asked one of the staff if they had it and she had no idea what the brand Becca was which really surprised me as everyone is raving about these highlighters! Anyway, when I got home I saw that they sell them on cult beauty, so I immediately ordered one as this is the one thing that’s been at the very top of my wish list. I was originally going to get the shade ‘Pearl’ as I thought it would be perfect for my pale skin, but after looking at swatches some more, I decided to get the shade ‘Moonstone’ and boy am I glad I did. It’s more of a light champagne shade, a lot lighter than my Mary Lou, which suits my yellow undertones perfectly. It gives off the most beautiful glow and as much as I pile this on, it still looks so natural, I’ve never known any highlighter like it! I could not recommend this more, it’s 100% worth the price tag, every girl needs one of these in her life.
So I hope you guys liked this little beauty haul, I’m sorry about the lack of swatches on the eyeshadow palettes. I did actually swatch them all but I ended up not being able to fit all of the shades on my arm and then my arm got sore after I wiped them off so I just gave up. I’ll probably do separate reviews if they get requested, or maybe a post dedicated to all of my favourite palettes and then I’ll do some good ol’ swatches of every one. Let me know if you have any of these products and what you think about them!
