A little review of the new Eye of Horus Bio lipsticks…
I recently received the new range of bio lipsticks from Eye of Horus and it’s safe to say that I’m loving them. Eye of Horus are an Australian brand who I discovered through Beauty Bay. I’ve tried a couple of their products before and really liked them so I had high hopes for the lipsticks when they arrived. The bio goddess lipstick range is 98% natural, 100% vegan and cruelty free which is perfect for all you CF babes. They claim to be moisturising and highly pigmented, leaving the lips soft and supple. Before I tried them out, I was very hopeful that I would be a fan of these as I suffer with dry lips all year round, particularly now that the weather is colder. However, I still like something that stays put on my lips and doesn’t come off too easily, so keep reading to hear how these ones measured up to my expectations.
The lipsticks retail for $34.95 AUD which coverts to roughly £20 which is about average for the price of a high end lipstick. The packaging of the lipsticks feels a little cheap considering the price tag, however this is because they are packaged in eco friendly recyclable, bio degradable card containers. I think it’s nice that it’s different packaging to my other lipsticks and I like the look of them a lot, the little illustrations are gorgeous. Plus they are black and gold so what’s not to love?!
None of the shades in the range have disappointed me, they all suit my skin tone so well which is fab! Sometimes when a brand gifts me lipsticks, I’m lucky if any of them suit me as I’m quite fair skinned but these shades are all so beautiful. I think my favourite shade overall is ‘rose’ it’s such a gorgeous colour, I’ve been wearing it loads.
The formula of the lipsticks is lovely, they are so creamy and hydrating which is perfect for the dryness I suffer with. I found them to apply quite matte yet they are still very creamy with a shine. They dry down well and didn’t budge too easily which I really liked, and they are also insanely pigmented which is fab. They didn’t come off too easily when eating and things, however the colour does come off when eating greasy things like most other lipsticks will. The lighter shades in the range work just how I like my nude lipsticks to, they wear off without being noticeable. They’re very similar to the formula of my Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, they’re like a mix of the matte and lustre finishes. My CT ones are always my go-to lipsticks so I think I’ll be reaching for these EOH ones just as much!
Overall I’m really impressed with this range and I am definitely wanting to try out a lot more products from Eye of Horus! Have you tried anything from this brand?
