A few skincare faves this month...
I always up my skincare game massively when the colder season kicks in, I find my skin needs a lot more maintenance in A/W as it gets so dry and dull. I add more hydrating products to my evening routine, I start using a lot more face masks and, of course, have a lot more evenings in with all the pamper essentials! Today I'm going to share a few of the most used products in my current skincare regime and tell you all about why they're essential...
Exfoliation
One of the essential steps to my skincare routine in A/W is making sure I exfoliate often. I tend to do it almost every day as my skin gets so dry and caked if I don't. My current favourite exfoliator for my face is the Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator, I think I mentioned this in my last blog post so you probably already know how much I love it! It's just so gentle on my skin so it means I can use it every evening with no issues and it leaves my skin feeling as soft as a baby.
Cleanse
My favourite cleanser at the moment is the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water, I used to use the Garnier one but since I started using this, I haven't gone back. I literally cannot recommend this enough if you suffer with sensitive skin like I do - it cleanses off an entire face of makeup, including all traces of eye makeup like a dream, and it doesn't sting or cause any sensitivity in the slightest. In the past when using some cleansers/micellar waters on my eyes it's been quite sore but this one is extremely gentle whilst still removing every trace. I'm addicted!
Tone
In replacement of toner, I actually just go in with the Alpha-H Liquid Gold, whilst this isn't a toner as such (it's more of a sleep in, liquid peel) I find it replaces one quite nicely. I apply it straight after I've used my micellar water so that it sinks straight into my freshly cleansed skin and I love how it leaves my skin feeling and looking. It's the most powerful product I've used for helping to clear acne scarring and redness, I can't be without this in my routine now.
Serum
My go-to serum at the moment is the Antipodes Hosanna Intensive Skin-Plumping Serum. It's not an oily serum which means it works beautifully on my combination skin but it's still hydrating enough for use in A/W. I love the way it sinks into my face and leaves my skin looking, I always have such a healthy glow. It applies really well underneath makeup and smells gorgeous too!
Moisturise
For moisturiser, I'm currently loving two different ones. The first one is the Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream which is a gorgeous everyday moisturiser. I've used so many Antipodes moisturisers and they never let me down, they are by far one of the best skincare brands to use - and the Vanilla Pod Day Cream is yet another favourite. It's super creamy so a tiny bit goes a long way, and it feels so silky applied on an evening, but also sinks in beautifully and makes your base perfect for makeup application. If I do need that little bit more hydration when my skin is feeling really dry, then I reach for the Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator which I also love a lot. I have the cream one as well as this one which is more of a gel formula and I find it to be so soothing when my skin is feeling extremely dehydrated. It feels so lovely applied under my eyes too, if you do suffer with really dry skin then I highly recommend the Clinique Moisture Surge range as it's incredible!
Masking
And last but not least - would this even be a skincare round-up without a good face mask? I think I also mentioned this one in my last blog post so sorry for the repetitiveness! I just can't not mention the Fresh Rose Mask in a post with my skincare favourites as I seriously have not stopped using this over the past few weeks. I apply it as the last step in my skincare regime and leave it to soak into my skin all night without rinsing. I wake up with gorgeous, healthy and glowing skin and it's perfect for stopping my face feeling all dry and cracked. Everyone needs this gem in their skincare drawer.
