Charlotte Tilbury Limited Edition Super Model Lipsticks
Charlotte Tilbury Limited Edition Super Model Lipsticks, say what?! As soon as I saw on twitter that Charlotte Tilbury had released some new shades, I was smitten. These are her matte revolution lipsticks, aka my favourite lipstick formula ever. If that’s not a reason to impulse buy, I don’t know what is. The new lipstick range is called the Supermodel range, inspired by Charlotte’s love for the 90s when nudes were born. The idea behind it is that these shades are ‘your lips but better’ nudes that enhance your natural beauty. There’s three shades in total, Super Nineties, Super Model & Super Sexy. I purchased two out of the three shades, Super Model & Super Sexy as I wasn’t 100% that Super Nineties would suit me as it’s quite a dark brown nude. I am tempted to buy it anyway though… but for now, find out my thoughts on the two shades I have!

Super Sexy
The shade I was immediately drawn to was Super Sexy – I have to admit it looks very different in person and on me to what it looked like on the model for Charlotte Tilbury but I still love it nonetheless! I feel like it looks like a muted ruby red on the image and it’s much more pink in person. Although it can differ in certain lighting. It’s described as a nude-rouge but I feel like that description insinuates it’s more red than it is? Maybe that’s just me. I know all lipstick shades vary from person to person as we all have different skin tones and undertones. Layered up it can be quite bold so for everyday wear, my favourite way to wear it is to apply a light layer and smudge it out with a bit of lip balm on top. It gives a much more natural flush of colour and looks lovely! If I was going out for the day or to an event and wanted a bolder lip, it would be perfect worn layered up to its true colour.

Super Model
Super Model is a shade that is definitely nothing like the image online. It looks so nude on the Charlotte Tilbury website and you can see from my swatch that it’s way way darker than that! I’ve worn it layered up on the photos so you can see its true colouring and it’s incredibly dark on me. I think it looks better on me when I’ve got a darker tan but my natural skin tone is too pale for a shade this dark I think. Having said that, I’ve worn this shade a lot more than Super Sexy as it’s gorgeous applied sheer and blended out. I feel like that’s the case with a lot of Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks – they’re so pigmented that you can apply the tiniest amount, blend it out and you have the perfect “your lips but better colour” as described. Super Model is described as a nude-rose colour but I’d say it’s more of a mauve tone. If you love shades such as Very Victoria and MAC Velvet Teddy then I think you’ll love this one, it’s incredibly similar to both, just darker. This one definitely represents the 90s well.
I love the Matte Revolution range from Charlotte Tilbury purely because they are such pigmented lipsticks, they’re matte without being drying or uncomfortable, and they’re extremely creamy and easy to apply. The new additions to the range are no exception to this, they wear like a dream and last all day long.

WEARING: SUPER SEXY

THE SHADES VS OTHER CT SHADES
Overall I really love both of the shades I purchased, despite them looking different to how they appeared online. I will say that I find them incredibly similar to a lot of other shades in the Charlotte Tilbury line up (as you can see above!) but if you’re a bit of a lipstick addict like me then you will see the slight differences and want them anyway. They represent the 90s perfectly just like they were made to. If you’re not much of an avid lipstick collector and already own some other CT shades then there’s probably not much point in picking these up – although you might want to anyway with them being limited edition.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the new shades?
