it's gift guide season!
My favourite time of year blog content wise! Actually, probably in general. I'm not going to create tons of gift guides this year, I'm already posting them slightly late and I don't really have the time! However, since moving into my new home, I must have spent hours and hours browsing homeware websites (lets face it, the best time killer right?) and what better way to put all of that scrolling to use, than to compile a home gift guide?! I can't wait to share all of these goodies with you. If you're looking for a gift and don't know where to look then keep reading as these bits are suitable for everyone...
Elizabeth Scarlett
If you're looking for dreamy homeware picks, Elizabeth Scarlett is a good place to start. I've worked with them a few times this year now and everything I own from them is absolutely gorgeous and definitely a luxury in my life! Their embroidered bits are so incredibly beaut, they've just released a bedding range too, which is the perfect Christmas gift to keep you warm and cosy over the winter. I have a matching travel pouch and eye mask from them in the zebra print which I alwaaays get comments on, and I also recently got another travel pouch from their most recent astrology collection which is lovely as that one is personalised! I have the gemini pouch as that's my star sign and it has my initials on too.Β Β
Harrow & Green Stockings
It's not too late to grab a stocking or two for your lounge or just for stuffing with gifts for that special someone. Harrow & Green have a selection of gorgeous personalised stockings, not only do these make the perfect home gift (but best to give them before the actual big day!) for others, but yourself too! Spruce up your home in time for Christmas with these beauts. The best part? They're personalised, so they really are a special gift that can be treasured for many Christmas' to come. They also do hessian santa sacks if you'd prefer one of those! I still have Reuben's santa sack from last year and I'm going to be using it again this year. They're great for storing presents in. The Christmas stockings I picked out for Reuben are the glitter inital and the personalised piccadilly.
Candles
Can you ever go wrong with candles as gifts at Christmas time? I don't think so. I have mine lit permanently in the colder months so I get through them so quickly. Plus they keep my house smelling delicious at all times! My favourite Christmas picks would be anything from Jo Malone or Diptyque. Both luxurious brands that many don't invest in very often due to not wanting to spend that much on a candle - therefore making them perfect gifts. There's nothing better than receiving a gift that you might not buy yourself, or very often anyway. It makes it all the more special. My current favourite candles are the Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka scent which was kindly gifted by World Duty Free as a house warming gift, and the Diptyque Vanille which I've completed burned now! Vanille has been a fave of mine for ages but I always think it's lovely to fill your house with sweet scents at Christmas.
L'Occitane
Anything from L'Occitane is so beautifully scented and dreamy, their gift sets come in ideal for Christmas time for any lovely ladies that are in need of a little pamper time. I picked out the Almond Gift Set to feature in this post as I love the L'Occitane almond scent, it's insaaane. The best part about this gift set is that Β£10 from each sale goes directly to the woodland trust to replant native trees across the UK. This is something really important to me, so it's a huge bonus when you're buying such a beautifully scented gift. In the set you get an almond soap, a body moisturiser, hand cream & my favourite - the shower oil!
The Little Luxuries
I think if you know a homeware lover, you really can't go wrong with little luxurious bits that they can place around the house. I personally love gold accents but this can vary, depending on the person, silver, rose gold, black or wooden accents might be their thing. There's so many different styles of decor these days! I love places like Anthropologie, H&M home and Trouva for things like this, you can find some real gems. I always get compliments on my gold wick trimmer which was a Trouva find,Β I use it in so many of my photos and have it on my shelving with my candles as it really adds a lovely touch. You can get black and silver versions too! I've linked some here but these aren't the same ones that I personally ordered, I got mine last year so I don't think they're available anymore. You can also pick up pretty boxes of matches on Trouva and there's tons of options available. A really different and cute gift!
For The Hinchers
Unless you've been living under a rock, the hinching addiction is real amongst us ladies, particularly all the mama bears out there. In winter particularly, I find I clean even more to avoid spreading germs and colds and all the other nasties. It may seem like a boring gift to some, but some people would love nothing more than a little cleaning hamper, especially if you put a bit of thought into it. ACE kindly sent over a few bits for me to try and feature in my guide and I couldn't recommend them more if you have any hinchers to buy for this year. In particular I've been loving the ACE for colours and ACE for whites, definitely essentials for washing when you've got a little one. I had two white jumpers that I only bought recently that were both completely trashed as they had gone so grey (who has the time to separate the whites though realistically?!) and I popped them both in a wash with the ACE for whites and they came out like brand new - it was insane! The ACE for colours also helps remove any tough stains on Ru's clothes when they get washed so I pop this in my daily washes. If you want to make a cute little cleaning hamper, you can always add some Christmassy zoflora scents too, or Method is another favourite of mine, their wild rhubarb floor cleaner makes my house smell delish!
Sous Chef
For all the cookery fans, Sous Chef have some fab gift ideas to select from! I received the Authentic Chinese Cooking Set & Cloud Nine Bamboo Plate to share for a couple of good ideas. The chinese cooking set is every Chinese lovers dream, it's not always financially viable to order a takeaway but I love making a homemade Chinese and in this you get a cookery book with tons of Chinese recipes in, as well as loads of the ingredients you need to make the dishes with. It all comes in a Sous Chef drawstring bag which is reusable (bonus points!) and is packaged very securely. The ingredients included in the set are things like soy sauce, chilli black bean sauce, sesame oil, potato flour, rice vinegar, rice wine... with a few other bits and bobs. The bamboo cloud plate is ideal if you know any little ones and want to gift more eco this Christmas. Plus it's super cute! They have lots of other fab gifts on their site too.
Another fab kitchen pick are the BRITA jugs, I've been using BRITA for well over a year now and couldn't recommend them more. We all know how important it is to drink lots of water and keep our bodies healthy, as well as our skin and the BRITA jugs filter the water so that it not only tastes nicer but gets rid of all those nasties too. I get a lot of limescale from my kitchen tap so I couldn't be without my jug now, I refuse to make Reubens squash without the filtered water just for that ease of mind of getting rid of all of the impurities. I definitely drink far more water because of it too. It's a great gift for someone who isn't much of a water drinker or hates tap water as it will probably be life changing for them - trust me! I have the style jug with a light that signals when the filter cartridge needs replacing and it's got a flip top lid so is super easy to fill up. It's amazing what a difference it makes to the taste of my morning coffee too.
If you're still not sure what gifts to buy for the home-loving guys and gals, here's a few more ideas...
