If you haven't heard of them before, let me introduce you to the brand, Green People. Green People are a brand that completely focus on natural, organic skincare. The founder, Charlotte VΓΈhtz, was inspired to create the brand after struggling to find natural products that would work well on her daughter Alexandra's sensitive skin. Charlotte wanted to formulate her own organic creams that were carefully tailored to her daughters allergy-prone skin. After lots of research, Green People was founded in 1997 with a range of products that are free from synthetic chemicals, synthetic fragrances and are cruelty free. Over the years, they've been presented with over 140 awards from magazines and organisations including the midwife-approved TIPS award for the organic babies range.
Fast forward to today, Green People have just released a new range that focuses on wellbeing and helping those with chronic illness and fatigue. The range is named after the founders daughter Alexandra, who has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and is called the Alexandra Kay range. The range features three pure essential oil blends that are each formulated to calm the body and mind.
Alexandra Kay Time To Smile Essential Oil Blend
The Time To Smile Essential Oil Blend is a natural blend of sweet orange, cedarwood and lemon to promote happiness and balance. The scent of this oil is so citrus-y and delicious, if you love strong orange based scents then you will find this just as dreamy as I do. I find citrus scents always lift my mood in general, the moment I get a whiff of them I always feel uplifted like I've inhaled a breath of the fresh Spring air. This one makes me feel like I'm walking through a market in the middle of Europe, inhaling the scent of fresh fruit and warm summer air.
If you wake up feeling a little groggy, this essential oil blend is perfect diluted with a little water and sprayed around your home, or even popped in a morning bath. You can also mix it into a soft balm and use it on your pulse points, which I personally think is lovely and relaxing when done straight after a bath or shower, or on an evening when you're winding down for the night.
The Notes
The lemon oil gives off a fresh and fruity scent whilst being great for balancing oily skin and dermatitis. The sweet orange oil helps to soothe irritated skin and promotes collagen production, whilst giving off an uplifting citrus scent of summer. The cedarwood is great for peace of mind and the woody scent reminds me of taking a lovely stroll in the fresh air. There's also notes of frankincense in there that give off a warm and spicy undertone that's lovely and earthy.
Essential oils are perfect for creating a calming home environment and for using during the ultimate self-care regime to create a peaceful ambience without having to venture out to a spa. I think we all need a little something to lift our spirits at the moment and the Time To Smile Essential Oil Blend is perfect for just that.
Where To Purchase
There's two other oils in the range, but the Alexandra Kay Time To Smile Essential Oil Blend is Β£20 and is available from Green People. A donation is made to Ehlers-Danlos Support UK with every purchase. It's currently EDS awareness month so now would be a perfect time to support a great cause whilst also bagging this delicious essential oil for yourself, it's such a lovely self-care treat!
