My skincare faves for healthy, glowing skin!
Hi guys and gals, it's been a short while since I last shared my favourite skincare picks, and over the last few weeks I have been using so many new products that I am l-o-v-i-n-g so of course, I have to share them on the ol' blog. Even through PMS breakout central, and heat rash throughout this horrendous heatwave we've had, these products have saved my skin so you know you've got something good going don't you?! There's a few other products I've been loving too but I thought I'd share a small round up of the ones that are leaving me with particularly healthy and glowy skin, so here goes...
Gatineau Gradual Tan
We'll start with my absolute summer essential this year, and that's the Gatineau Golden Glow Gradual Tan. I was sent this a few months back to try out, already a huge lover of a gradual tan as I suffer with dry skin & eczema and find that gradual tans are just the most moisturising for me. I had used Gatineau skincare in the past and knew they were a pretty fab brand, but I have to say, I didn't have high hopes for the tan. I thought it might be more of a skincare product than an actual tan if you know what I mean? I thought it might focus more on benefits to the skin rather than leaving you with colour. Well. I was very, very wrong. This tan fast became a holy grail gradual tan for me, and I have used it religiously ever since. Not only does it leave my skin with the most gorgeous & natural looking tan (literally it's like sun-kissed skin, I love it) but it lasts so well too! I'm on my last dregs of my second bottle of the stuff so that's two empties already! I will definitely be purchasing a third, I've gone through a fair few gradual tans so far and this one is definitely at the top. No patchiness either, it just fades evenly for the most part. I do get a bit of patchiness on my hands and around my wrists but that's just from the excessive amount I wash them due to having a toddler so it's to be expected!
Pixi Vitamin C Range
I receive Pixi PR parcels quite regularly and the latest one was their Vitamin C range which I've been trying out. I haven't put it down if I'm honest as I love the products and find they just leave my skin looking so healthy and radiant. My two particular favourites though, that have stood out the most to me (and are running quite low which you can see in my photos!) are the Vitamin C Juice Cleanser and the Vitamin C Tonic. I use the pair together both morning and evening as part of my routine and my skin instantly feels hydrated and glowing, I notice this particularly with the cleanser which is unusual as most can be quite drying! I don't notice any dry feeling at all with this which I love, it's amazing for using pre-makeup. The tonic leaves my skin looking much more radiant and gives it a gentle exfoliation which you can definitely feel. If you have super sensitive skin the tonic might not be ideal for you, mine's sensitive but I can deal with this. It's massively helped in reducing my breakouts and the redness that comes with them so it won't be leaving my routine any time soon.
Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum
Drunk Elephant kindly sent me over a selection of their products to try out a couple of months ago and I was so, so excited! It's a skincare brand I've heard so many good things about and been wanting to try for ages so what a treat. One of the products that I've been using most is the C-Firma Day Serum which is another skincare product that brightens whilst also reducing signs of ageing. I apply this post pixi cleanse and because this also contains Vitamin C, it leaves my skin looking and feeling so much healthier and brighter. Since adding this serum to my routine, my skin has been looking noticeably clearer and much more glowy, and it also feels so smooth! The serum contains pumpkin ferment and pomegranate extracts which dissolves dead surface skin cells, giving you a smooth texture - which explains it. I am a little bit obsessed with this serum not going to lie, it sinks into my skin beautifully too and I love the packaging which is designed to help the product stay fresh! Drunk Elephant is definitely a more luxury skincare brand with a hefty price tag, but I think you're really getting your moneys worth with this one.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturiser
Another skincare brand I was kindly gifted recently was Glow Recipe. Another brand I've heard amazing things about (especially the watermelon sleeping mask!) and have been eager to get my mitts on. One of the products included in the selection I was sent was the Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturiser which is just lovely. It's an oil-free formula which is ideal for my oily t-zone! It's a gel moisturiser which isn't something I'd usually opt for but honestly, in this summer heat it's been incredible as it's so cooling on my skin. It's been so soothing whilst I've been battling breakouts too, and the watermelon extract is known for soothing irritated and inflamed skin so what could be a better moisturiser to use whilst dealing with pesky blemishes?! It's super hydrating and the gel texture leaves my skin much glowier than usual, definitely a summer fave.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask
Last but not least, is the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask - I can finally see what the hype is regarding this beauty! This is another gel textured product, and just like the moisturiser, it's super cooling on the skin and such a treat to apply on a summer evening. This has been amazing at helping reduce inflammation in my breakout areas over the past few weeks, also with using spot treatments and them being quite drying, it's helped to restore the hydration too. My skin always looks so radiant when I wake up after having this sinking into my pores all night and it's become a little bit addictive. I don't think I've ever used a mask so much if I'm being honest. It helps that it sinks into my skin so quickly too, I am honestly obsessed. If there's one mask worth investing in, this is definitely it!
While the items above are a part of my skincare routine, I also like zinc PCA, an entirely natural bi-active biomineral complex, comprising zinc, a vital element for our body, and L-PCA, a skin-essential physiological molecule derived from plant-based amino acids. Zinc PCA is a product worth researching and learning more about.
So that's a wrap for my current skincare faves, honestly my skin has never looked & felt so healthy as it has recently. These are definitely staples for that glowy summer skin! What products are you loving lately?
