Some new Summer skincare finds…
I’ve recently discovered Skin-Nomad, a brand who were inspired to create a platform to hold all the skincare treasures they found on their travels, that were unavailable from your typical mainstream retailers. They’ve created a space where you don’t have to worry about misleading marketing tactics, and are guaranteed to find skincare that’s both safe, and effective for your skin. Their commitment to transparency is second to none, and they prioritise products formulated with only high-quality ingredients that are backed by science, as well as being safe for your skin.
The best aspect of the Skin-Nomad platform, is that they offer a skin test, you can find this very easily on their website in the navigation bar. It’s a short quiz that you take, where you tell them your name, age, skincare budget, skin type, and then tick the skincare problems that you want to solve. Afterwards, you’ll receive a list direct to your inbox with a round-up of the products perfectly suited for your skin.
The products are listed out in categories, from your cleansers and serums, to your moisturisers and sunscreen, and then there’s even night cleansers, toners, treatments and night moisturisers. They cover everything and really help you to narrow down your skincare shopping which I think is brilliant. The skincare market is so overwhelming and you’re often made to feel like you need absolutely everything for your skin when shopping for skincare products, when actually, less is more.
So, let’s get in to the products I picked out for my own skin!
My skincare type
My personal skin type is dehydrated and sensitive, and the problems I want to combat are redness, large pores, and to increase my skins hydration. The great thing about the quiz is, it completely narrows down the wide array of products available, but you still get multiple choices offered to you, so you still get to browse and shop.
I received a great list of products to choose from for these issues and I picked out the ones that I felt are not only suited to my skin type, but are great skincare products for the upcoming summer months. So on to what treats I picked…
ISNTREE Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser
I loved the sound of all of the cleansers that were suited for my skin type, but I really fancied trying out the Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser by ISNTREE. It’s a lovely gentle and milky cleanser that contains amino acids that soothe your skin and create a barrier to retain moisture. It’s full of nourishing plant ingredients such as coconut, rice, soybean, sweet almond seed and oatmeal. I love applying this to my skin at the end of the day as it really does just melt away any makeup and impurities and leaves my skin feeling so soft and supple. It’s a dream.
MIMITIKA Milky Drop Serum
I must admit, I was drawn to the Milky Drop Serum by MIMITIKA because just look how adorable the bottle is, and the baby blue serum is so pretty. The Milky Drop Serum contains prickly pear and oat extracts to soothe and restore radiance, as well as raspberry seed oil which acts as a natural barrier to protect your skin from environmental factors such as the sun. It has a gel-like texture that’s not sticky or tacky in the slightest and it feels so nice to apply. It’s super lightweight and quite cooling so I really enjoy applying this to my skin first thing on a morning, it goes beautifully underneath my makeup.
KAINE Green Calm Aqua Cream
Normally, I’m a big fan of a thick creamy moisturiser for my dry skin, however as I was focused on choosing skincare products for the summer months, I picked out the Green Calm Aqua Cream by KAINE. It’s a water-based cream that I feel is perfectly suited for those warmer, humid days. A water-based cream is usually always cooling and this one is no exception, it’s also incredibly soothing and reduces redness which is one of my biggest skin concerns. It works to strengthen the skin barrier too, so it’s great for my sensitive skin.
Avocado Zinc SPF 50 Natural Physical Sunscreen
SPF is such an important part of a skincare routine and is not a step to be missed. I picked out the SPF 50 Natural Physical Sunscreen from Avocado Zinc, which is a mineral sunscreen crafted in Western Australia and it offers defence against harmful UVA and UVB rays with reef-safe, non-nano zinc oxide.
It’s a rich formula containing avocado oil, coconut oil, vitamin E, calendula oil, and kakadu plum oil, to nourish and soothe the skin. It’s vegan and has been designed with everyone in mind, which means it’s suitable for those with sensitive skin, nursing mums and even little ones. I absolutely love having a do-it-all sunscreen, that I can apply to my skin underneath my makeup daily, as well as apply to my little ones faces too.
I adore all of the products that I picked, and feel like I really found some skincare gems, that I would never have found if it wasn’t for Skin-Nomad.
