My Autumn beauty faves...
There's nothing I love more than changing up my makeup a little with the new seasons. I've become so boring over the past year or so and started wearing pretty much the same makeup daily so with each season (or month!) I'm making the effort to mix it up more. Autumn is by far my faaaavourite time of year for makeup picks as I'm all about those bronzey, golden hues and deep red lips. There's just something about the two paired together with woolly knits and docs that call out to me. I recently became an ambassador for Bobbi Brown which I'm super excited about as I've been absolutely loving their makeup this year and bought so much with my own money. I'm over the moon to have even more of their products (especially their skincare which I've been dying to try) to add to my stash and you'll find some featured in this post that have become fast staples of mine in my everyday routine! So, let's get into it shall we...
Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation
A foundation that lasts all day, has a matte finish, combats oiliness and doesn't cling to dryness? Am I dreaming?! My new foundation go-to is this little number, the BB Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation. I tend to get quite dry skin in the colder months but as I have combination skin I still get the oiliness and this is a base that covers all my needs. It's super thick but silky, gives me the perfect coverage whilst still looking natural and controls my oily t-zone all day. And I mean all day - it's insane. If you have oily or combination skin, I cannot recommend this enough! For reference, I have it in warm sand which is the perfect shade for my yellow undertoned skin. I use a gradual tanner so my skin is light but with a hint of colour to it.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base
I've been literally dying to try this base out for so long and I can honestly say, it hasn't disappointed. The Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base is essentially a moisturiser and a primer in one, so whilst you're hydrating your face for the day, you're also prepping your skin perfectly for makeup application. It's so rich and luxurious to use, thick but not too thick and sinks in like an utter dream. I can see why it's raved about so much as my skin feels silky to the touch afterwards and my foundation and concealer blends in so beautifully afterwards. An absolute winter staple if you ask me.
Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe Herbs & Rosewater
I've really got into face sprays recently, especially after my sister mentioned how much this Mario Badescu number helped her dry skin. It's been such a game changer using this for the past couple of weeks as part of my skincare routine. I spray my face with it pre-moisturiser both morning and evening and it's not only lovely and refreshing to use, but it just helps my skincare to sink in with ease whilst also giving my skin extra hydration.
Urban Decay Naked Honey Palette
Autumn in a palette? Done. World Duty Free kindly sent me over the UD Naked Honey and I've been addicted to it ever since it arrived. Full review coming soon but I can honestly say, I haven't reached for an UD palette in such a long time and not been that interested in any of their releases until this bad boy! It just screams me, with all those warm golden tones! I'm very partial to a shimmery eye all year round and this palette has plenty to keep things mixed up, I'm in love.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush
A blush favourite that comes out at this time of year for me is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in the shade risque which is a beautiful peachy nude. It pairs perfectly with any contour/bronzer I wear and adds extra definition whilst giving my cheeks a pop of colour! If you're into blushes that are a bit more toned down then this one is perf.
Laura Mercier Illuminator
My current favourite highlight to use daily is the Laura Mercier Illuminator in the shade indiscretion which is a gorgeous rosy golden shimmer. I usually like my highlighter to be more golden than pink toned but this one seems to just work perfectly in the Autumn months and I love how it compliments my nude/rosy blushes beautifully. It's so pigmented and also looks so pretty in the pan, definitely one to pick up if you're in the market for a new highlight that pops!
Bobbi Brown Luxe Shine Intense Lipsticks
I very recently received a package containing the new Bobbi Brown Luxe Shine Intense Lipsticks and I'm absolutely hooked on them all already. There's 13 shades in total and every single one is just beautiful. I wear a broad range of lip colours including nudes, pinks, berries and red tones so I know I'll get so much wear out of them all. My two current favourites from the collection are Supernova and Bold Honey - Supernova is a beaut deep red perfect for the A/W seasons and Bold Honey is a gorgeous deep nude, also perfect for A/W! The lipsticks are super creamy and hydrating, containing hyaluronic acid and vitamin E, but they also dry down to a semi-matte finish and stay in place all day. Trust me - I've tested it! I can't believe how pigmented they are either, one swipe and you've got the most intense colour on your lips. I cannot rave about them enough to be honest. Full review on the collection coming soon!
Lanolips Ointment
I've heard the Lanolips Ointment raved about all over the blogosphere for quite some time now, so I thought it was finally time I tried it out for myself. I picked it up in Urban Outfitters the other day whilst I was out shopping and was a bit surprised by how pricey it is at £10.99. I definitely don't usually pay that much for a lip balm, but with this one it isn't just for your lips. It can be used on any dry skin areas and seals in the moisture to help it heal, so the real question for me is - does it work?! I've been using it religiously for a couple of weeks now and as someone who struggles with extremely dry lips, I can honestly say it's done wonders for me. I don't actually think my lips have ever felt this moisturised actually! If you suffer with really dry & cracked lips in the colder months then this is absolutely worth picking up - believe me.
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick
I've had my eye on the BB Long-wear Cream Shadow Stick in the shade Golden Bronze for quite a while now. If you're a regular around here then you'll know how addicted to the BB sparkle stick in molten bronze I was and as that was limited edition, this was the next best thing. It's not as warm toned or sparkly as the sparkle stick disappointingly but it's still an absolutely gorgeous shadow stick regardless! I've been wearing it so much paired with a matte brown in the crease and it's super easy to wear on the daily whilst making me look like I've put in a whole lotta effort. Shadow sticks are my favourite for that very reason but this one is a beautiful bronze to add to any gals stash.
So that's a wrap for my current Autumnal faves! You might notice a couple of products here that were also included in last years Autumn beauty round-up but I think that says that they're just well loved products and worth every penny. I'd love to know what products you're loving lately - especially if there's any with glittery bronzey tones as you know I love a good eyeshadow!
